I got an quote to buy a 140” fixed frame non AT screen from Seymour. Today I emailed back to call me to order & I called a dealer & the main num. & left a message. Not able to reach anyone. Imagine that ready to buy but no one to sell. After watching this with much respect. I’m wondering if there’s much difference in quality if its not AT. Mainly cause my take away is there was no talk of a “plain Jane screen”. My question is there any real quality to justify the higher price or is it as simple as buying sheets by the thread count.
Seymour is based in Iowa, which is more or less shut down this morning due to an ice and snow storm. Give them a little extra time to dig out and return messages. They'll respond. That said, there is definitely a difference in the material.
hello i have a benq850i with a firestick im looking for a a simple inexpensive 2.1 Bluetooth I'm in no means in your league would you recommend something well under 1k im looking at.... edifier s360db tks
I have a 155in at screen it cost me arond $300 to build i dont wont to go any smaller I think my next build would be 180in If you going for projection you should hide evething and build big for scope movies I sit about 12 feet back but I wish the picture could be bigger a lot of times
Thanks for the feedback flyers, the image quality is right in line with what you'd expect from a high-quality AT screen. In terms of gain, it also runs in line with what a screen of equal gain will give you.
Your choice should be more based on the room than the projector. Your seating distance, light control, etc. will play a bigger factor in the decision than the projector. The 5050 has plenty of light output when mounted within the manufacturer's recommended distance, so gain shouldn't be much of an issue for you. How far back is your main seat from the screen, and do you have a light-controlled room or is there ambient light while viewing?
Its 17 foot from main seat. Light is fully controlled..wall are dark grey. I have bar backside of projector..During party time, lights will be on in bar. But still I can switch off thelights.
WIth that room you should be fine with either UF or XD material, and since your main seat is 17 feet away I'd opt for XD. The only reason I'd go to UF in your situation is if the projector needed to be mounted at the shorter throw range of the approved range. If you're at the short end, using UF could help bring your black levels down.
