My husband has just retired for the second time and as soon as we have had our vaccines we are starting the search for our forever home. I’ve seen your home in several of the videos and have decided that it’s close to the style that I want and it gives off a vibe that’s is so welcoming. Hi Linda oh your Amaryllis are just Gorgeous. The one my aunt gave me is like the red and white one . I will be Praying for Stuart that he doesn't get really sick. As my daughter and granddaughter had the covid and they are really sick. They both work in a nursing home and they got it from there but than God they are both back to work. Very nice. Love the way you support the heavy Amaryllis flowerheads ... ( a bit Victorian ...English style..) I also prefer Amaryllis not waxed but in pots ... I don't believe waxed plants are happy. I would like to plant next year snow drops ( galanthus nivalis) I believe would be nice just for a few days to bring them inside. I be bought after Christmas ...in sales bulbs of Tulips ( Negrita ...a scented variety ...planted them ...leave them outside ...but when they start to sprout I will bring them inside.) I believe a willow basked filled with tulips will last longer than cut flowers in a vase. It snowed here in Belgium ... that's good news ( bulbs get frost...that will give better results for flowering). I m really curious if next spring your ( and my tulips ) will be an abundance ... I'm sorry to hear Stewart and his daughter are sick too. My husband and I both have had Covid19 and pneumonia, with my husband being in the hospital for five days. It's no picnic, but we're recovering. I enjoyed seeing your topiaries and amaryllisses! Do you ever do heart-shaped topiaries for Valentine's Day? I did one running rosemary up a heart-shaped form.

To get rid of those gnats, cut a water bottle top off about two inches down and put the funnel shape back in the bottle, don't forget to remove the lid, put a few drops of Dawn and a little bit of vinegar in the bottom of the bottle, along with a small amount of water. Place this bottle in your gnat infested area and all of your gnats will go in the bottle and die. It works like magic!

Stuart please watch out for the second week, the first week I thought I just had a mild case, it was indeed like a bad flu, the end of the second week my oxygen level dropped to the low 80's (pulse oximeter reading), and developed terrible hives/rashes. I needed to go to the hospital. Take care of yourselves!

Wishing Stewart a full and speedy recovery form COVID. Hoping you are staying safe and healthy....Your amaryllis are beautiful. I start growing them just about now to have some color until spring. I was hoping to overwinter a Eugenia plant since I love your Eugenia’s so much. But it seems to succumb to some type of a bug infestation. Is there a trick to overwinter them. Would you be kind to tell me what temperature you are storing yours in? Or any tips that would help them survive the winter indoors... thank you.

I have learned to add Mosquito Bits to the soil of everything I pot up. Because those little devil fungus gnats are so hard to get rid of. It acts as a preventative measure. And if you already have an infestation you can add it on top of the soil. Takes a couple of weeks to work but is the only thing I’ve had success with.

Everything is so beautiful! I’ve been using Mosquito Bits as well. Yes, it’s organic 🪴 Mine seemed to come from a Norfolk Island Pine from Home Depot before Christmas.

I found a double myrtle topiary at Walmart for 20$ but in small 6” nursery pot I have it in another container on patio that gets some direct sun I keep it watered but my question is should I wait till warmer weather before I repot it it seems happy and bring inside if temps go below 33/35... in pensacola fl our notes have been in 40’s ... would love info thanks Linda! Since it was just a volunteer I dug up, I think it’s a Cherry Laurel. :-)
