I live in New Brunswick, Canada . I really enjoy your videos on You Tube ! You have such a sweet, honest personality that shows through when you are showing your projects ! I really hope you continue to post on You Tube !
Absolutely beautiful work!! I'm a great grandmother started sewing about 59 yrs ago. So glad to see you making Lori Holt blocks. I'm a Lori Holt follower! You've inspired me to make these blocks! From Texas
I could sit and watch and listen to you all day long....and have done so I might say!!!! I love these blocks and love the process. The little people or animals you're adding personalize it so much. And thank you for leaving in your wee missteps....❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ it's nice to see that it's okay to make an error...handmade is best ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love the personalised touch with the puppy. What a great idea! I'm planning mine to go on my guest bed for my grandchild and this will be a cute little touch.
Very beautiful i just got my simple shapes in and I've printed pattern. I have two quilts to finish before I start my houses. I have a range of left over blocks from other projects I'm going to use for those border lines. I'm going to use as many scraps as I can in this house quilt😅 love your design so far! Happy stitching Rachel we love all you do❤
Hello Rachel, getting a late start. Got my pack of templates. Was over my head it was so many. Got house number one pattern and just now picking the fabric for the pieces. Thank you for your videos. Enjoy watching you put yours together. Happy sewing.
Great! Touch! Machining curves in real time. Light touch. American Prairie girl like me might call that English fiddling in fun, but it's more precise. High quality work. 💓 Love it
So cute! Thanks for the great tip on using a self threading needle. I never thought of that and struggle to thread a regular needle to draw the thread to the back.
I couldn’t wait either so I finished all the house blocks. So now I have to do the small in between blocks. My Husqvarna broke so I was not able to embroidery all the house blocks. So I will wait until I get that back to embroider the house blocks and continue with the small ones. I have an old singer that does not do much but straight stitches. So I can figure out how to show you my blocks
Rachel, sometimes when I have a bunch of those type of templates I punch holes nearer to the edges and place small length of ball & chain with a closure thru them. This way I can keep all the associated templates together.
You take such care with your sewing! Tying off each of those ends is more than I could do! I wonder if you could tell us how much time this block took from fabric selection through appliqué prep and final sewing.
Beautiful house. I haven’t quite decided if I want to make this quilt or not. My husband made me four clappers and I love them. Might I ask where you are in the UK? My daughter and I will be visiting in March and we are in the planning stages of deciding where we want to stay and what we want to do. I do know I want to do a nice afternoon tea and visit some quilt shops.
@Roxanne-xx9nv what an exciting trip! I live in Birmingham, we don't have any quilt shops in Birmingham itself. There is a wonderful shop called the bramble patch in a village called Weedon. Or the quilters den in Warwick, very close to Warwick castle, this one is a small shop compared to the bramble patch though ❤️ have a fab trip
@@stitchwithrachel, depending on where we stay maybe we could meet up. I’m currently living in West Africa in the country of Benin. I would love to bring you some fabric from here, keeping in mind your love of pinks. They have the most beautiful indigo fabric here and I’m quickly falling in love with it. I’m collecting fabric to make a blue and white fabric. Do you have another color that you like? We might be leaning toward staying in Bath. I know things are closer there in terms of distance, plus there is the advantage of public transportation.
Such beautiful work love the house quilt think even I could have a go at that ..where do I get the templates and pattern from ..live watching you so relaxing ..sonia
It is a really easy method of applique, templates can be brought from lots of different places depending where you live. They are called sew simple shapes
I'm using different ones, they are similar though... although I've realised I haven't got enough so I'll need to get more. The blocks aren't joined in the order that they are made so that's why I did the same background on this one ❤️
