Unfortunately, the top of your curtain is going to get wet and mildew. That's why the liner is not sewed into the curtains, because it has to protect the top of the curtain. If you look at commercial fabric shower curtains, there is a strip of plastic at the top. Also, the reason there are little hooks made of metal or plastic is, again, they can get wet without mildewing. Just sayin'. I've been sewing for about 50 years now.
@@KatMolitor what about drying it after? plastic liners are not meant to be thrown into the dryer for many reasons, and air drying it seems like it will either be lengthy and inconvenient ?? washing it regularly will also damage the liner. Curtain design is cute and has potential tho!
Mildew can form over a couple of hours. It's one of the fastest growing fungi out there. And like @TheUniversalDaughter said, frequent washing would destroy the liner. I love the plaid, but it really needs to be made like a regular shower curtain. Maybe with holes at the top to tie ribbons of the plaid through, so the curtain itself and ties can be removed for washing?
Mold and mildew are problems when there isn't enough ventilation or if water is allowed to stand. If she uses a polyester fabric, she won't get mold or mildew.
That is not really practical. You are not going to wash it with a cheap plastic liner attached. Those are designed to be replaced. They are like 10 bucks at Target. No way will that shower curtain last beyond a photo shoot.
This is my favorite video you've posted so far! I LOVE the shower curtain and want every pillow. None of them would really go in my house, though. You are so talented! I am 75, and my house, though very colorful, is traditional. (It would probably make you puke. lol)
Well…The shower curtain turned out better than I thought it was going to. I was saying out loud “don’t sew the liner to the curtain. You will have to wash the whole thing”. Glad you listened.😳😄I think it looks great. Of course, I’m a plaid fan. I also didn’t expect to like the rug when you carried it in, but I do. It looks so nice with your bed. I guess that’s why you have a RU-vid channel and I don’t.😄
how does it work? like do you need to throw it to a washing machine every week without a liner or what? im really confused how cotton fabric will work in such a humid enviroment...
@@wapnicawapnica9745 No, the fabric is fine. I just meant that it’s easier to wash the liner if it’s not sewn to the shower curtain. The liner (at least my liner) seems to get dirty looking faster than the curtain itself.
@@wapnicawapnica9745 Not necessarily. The curtain rarely gets moldy under the right conditions or even on a relatively wet environment. The liner on the other hand, gets moldy more frequently. That is why the liner should never be attached to the curtain
I LOVE THE SHOWER CURTAIN fabric! ......The fabric has the perfect body...sewing theliner to the curtain is the problem. When you hang the liner and curtain separately you do not have to wash the curtain everytime you wash the liner. The shower is damp ( at best) and hanging the 2 fabrics together creates a breeding ground for mold. The solution is a second expansion curtain rod hung directly in back of the shower curtain for the finer.
Put grommets on the curtain, line up with grommets on the plastic liner. Use one pole. Ditch the cloth tabs. That is not going to work in a shower. @@vaderladyl
You’ve made a “tab top” shower curtain. You could get a curved curtain rod, which is going to give you a ton of space in the tub, and if you mount it near the ceiling, it will look very modern. If you wanna. Good job, and good luck with wasthestore!
Inflation and Recessions are part of the economic cycle, all you can do is make sure you're prepared and plan accordingly. I graduated into a recession (2009). My 1st job after college was aerial acrobat on cruise ships. Today I'm a VP at a global company, own 3 rental properties, invest in stocks and biz, built my own business, and have my net worth increase by $500k in the last 4 years.
Let's face it... buying more stocks & index funds during stock market corrections and bear markets is scary. Which makes it really hard to do for most people like me. I have 260k i want to transfer into an s&s isa but its hard to bite the bullet and do it.
She covers things like investing, insurance, making sure retirement is well funded and looking at ways to have a volatility buffer for investment risk, lots of things like that. You can take a look at her full name on the internet. She is renowned. So it shouldn't be difficult to find her official webpage
The smaller rug is perfect for the kitchen! Love, love, love it. Also love, love, love your bedroom rug. Looks perfect! No, no, no on liner sewn into curtain! Liners, need to be changed out often. I’m still bummed I was unable to get one of your pillows from the first batch. I literally cussed on missing out on the one pillow that would work perfectly in my home!
You can use a second shower rod that hangs inside and just below the outside (pretty) fabric for your liner. The plastic liner would sit inside the tub, the fabric outside. Similar to double-rod curtains.
As someone who has pattern drafted on the floor, cut fabric on the floor and run a sewing machine like that, I remember how it’s like doing a yoga workout. Go Paige, make it happen!
Shower-curtain idea is so nice, but that fabric will get mouldy in a couple of weeks regardless of the inter-liner. As soon as you have this down it will be a top seller though!
The pop up was so beautiful. I went and I was so nervous bc that’s just who I am, but I am so excited about my pillows and plant. Didn’t even get my wine 😤 I grabbed the goods and ran! Lmao, starstruck by k8 and Paige
The tartan fabric clashes with the tile retro green so not for me. I dont understand the fabric outer with separate inner. Just use a washable curtain. You can even buy custom patterns. It blocks light as well. I did like the ribbon tabs but I can't remove my rod without unscrewing it from the wall so I can't use that.
I have a dark colored shower curtain and it doesn’t let light in very well and it’s very inconvenient when I’m trying to shave. Sometimes designers don’t think about the utility of items and decor very well.
I like the idea of a more custom, fun shower curtain. I would be into it if: 1) the tabs were longer so the proportions looked better and more flowy than stiff, it looked like tiny tabs with a long length of stiff fabric, 2) the tabs had snaps for convenience, 3) the dark colors fit your style but I would want lighter with maybe dark accents or all light as options, 3) definitely figure out the waterproofing/mold prevention thing better.
Thanks for posting Paige. I find the shower curtain too dark, moody and like a cozy fireplace kinda thing to have in a bathroom or at least as a shower curtain, in a small bathroom like that. Doesn't it feel even smaller now?
I love the plaid, it's incredibly unexpected for the bathroom. May I also say that I'm incredibly impressed with how your style has evolved throughout the years, its so unique now!
Somehow mustering up unknown strength to move things I want moved now is so relatable. Also reminds me of being a teen and waking up my parents to the sound of me rearranging my room randomly at 2am
Paige! Soooo happy to see you back in your house doing more cozy-ing! Luv this type of video. The rug is amazing, absolutely the most perfect choice for your room. The idea for adding shower curtains to WAS is equally amazing. DO IT! We are here for it. Keep up the great work.
Your taste is impeccable! I’ve been a viewer of all kinds of RU-vid for 15+ years and you’re my favorite to watch. I feel like I’ve been able to see furniture and styling in a whole other light, it’s benefitted my new home. Your variety of videos and personality makes me excited to watch every time. You’re killing it! & thanks for taking suggestions of what viewers want to see from you. From your loyal subscriber in Chicago!
LOVE the rug in the bedroom, made everything come together! And the shower curtain.... so impressed how you can envision how great somethings gonna look!
This is my favorite video by far of yours. The tabs and the plaid combo is so so good. I would love a pillow in a similar combination, but all the pillows are perfection!! I hope I can snag one next time 😊 I gasped at the free little kitchen rug and then gasped again at the bedroom rug!!! Absolute perfection. Your bedroom is *chef's kiss*. So cozy, warm, ethereal with the colours. Love love love. This video was chaotic but enjoyable as a fellow floor sewer myself. It's so much easier with large projects!
Oh my gosh Paige. I still own a hunk of that same trim. I bought it in 1995, according to the handwritten receipt from a long-gone store in the garment district of NYC.
Bedroom rug is perfect, the shower curtain transports me to another place in time in a good way, and the large orange striped pillow is my favorite 🤍 thanks for showing the behind the scenes at the end! 👌🏼
Gorgeous cushions! Congratulations on selling them out again✨ New rugs are spectacular. Re: shower curtain - great concept. I recognize you enjoy clashing patterns, however they still need to have a through line, so they flow and make sense. Your dark shower curtain doesn’t look intentional or tie in with your tile at all. As most fabric is only 50” wide, you could do a split in the middle and have 2 curtains Vs the awkward, random seam up the side. Love the trim concept as loops. Can’t wait to see your next collections.
JUST found your channel and have absolutely binged every video over the passed 48 hrs as I've repainted and reconfigured my apartment. Such good general inspiration and motivation to have playing in the background as I worked. Need a shower curtain.
Yes!!! I just moved in to a new place and really struggled to find a shower curtain that I liked. So happy you’re making some!!! I also snagged some pillows during this drop, so excited to get them!
Shower curtain = genius. Everything about it is good. You can do horizontal panels if extra fabric is needed and that would also allow to mix fabric for more fun. I think attaching the shower lining is brilliant can wait to see that coming to your store
I like the idea of the shower curtain, but it is fighting with the tile. It gives me lumberjack who retired to sun city. Next time line up the plaid and make the liner removable and it will be perfect.
oh paige this idea is so clutch!! i absolutely looove the shower curtain and since I've been scavenging for any type of good print for forever it really inspired me to just diy it (or wait for a release in your shop 👀)
ah I was SO CLOSE to getting my hands on a pillow this time, but between the time I added it to my cart and checked out, they were all sold out. Wah. Rug looks so good in the bedroom! Can I ask what paint colors you have in there?
Im sure you have videos planned out but i would love a 'What i look for in a great chair' sort of video. Featuring chairs that are actually for sale that you like. I would love to have the time for thrifting and then reupholstering, but tbh i dont have the greatest thrift stores around me unless its like $1000/chair because it's a norwegian famous chair from the 60s haha, ya know?
I have a shower curtain that I made from a sari. It has fancy ribbon I bought in India as the tabs at the top. I sewed buttons on the back where the tabs attach and I can just button the liner to the buttons. It works really well.
I love everything in your house, your style is my style I love things that aren’t matchy matchy ❤ and has a haphazard cohesion I adore! It all works together beautifully. I used to do all displays for Macys, TJ Maxx, Homegoods and Pier 1. Is why you’re my favorite channel ❤
Love the shower curtain. I really like the flower tab contrast with the plaid. The bedroom rug is perfect. I love the tiny hit of purple, my favorite color but so hard to decorate with but somehow I've managed to put splashes here and there.
I love your new rug...it's perfect in your room! As for the shower curtain...maybe it would be better used as a curtain for one of your windows then get something lighter for the bathroom? Maybe even just an all white waffle weave and keep it simple? Love your channel!
I wanted so many of the pillows and they sold out so fast 😭😭😭 That rug really is perfect for your bedroom, amazing find! Also I’m very here for some plaid shower curtains
Your pillows are very cute and unique...love them! I didn't think I would like a heavy plaid shower curtain at 1st but of course you be knowin and it looked great!
hi paige! i went to the pop up on tuesday and was honestly too shy to say hello but i’m so glad i went because the pillows are already sold out !! congratulations to you & kate :) ps. the rug is so good. i really love the way you’ve incorporated color in your home 🌷
not me feeling extremely validated today, cause i spent my weekend diying a plaid shower curtain (mounting it high, like a regular curtain) and shopping for a vintage rug for under my bed, that has a rim to frame the bed nicely 😅😅❤ love everything in this video, immaculate vibes 😍
