I’m sorry you have missing boxes…if customs has them, you would be notified. You can call them. Also, next time, number your boxes and have a list, or video while you pack, tape boxes, and number them as proof. Wishing you all the best. Happy Father’s Day, Conner!
When my family emigrated to South Africa almost 20 years ago we had the same thing happen! Lots of stuff stolen. Cameras, DVDs, my parents mementos from Concorde, expensive furniture. The list was endless. We claimed on the insurance and even as a 12 year old I remember my part of the claim was awarded over 1k. So that probably puts into perspective how much was stolen! We have no idea where the theft happened (UK, customs, SA)….
Firstly, the boys will still have an amazing relationship with their cousins. When you live abroad the times you do spend with family is so much more memory making time than just day to day stuff they never remember. Also please tell us how you make your jacket potatoes because they look lush.
You’ve got to call that shipping company and start a claim for your missing items. Follow up with everyone involved in the process. I’m sure you purchased insurance.
You need to submit a claim for anything that's broken or stolen. As someone who moved from the UK to the US, it's a really easy process and that's why they have insurance. The moving company should have taken an inventory when they picked everything up

3M command makes a velcro-like product for hanging picture frames without damage. They have some that hold up to like 20lb, and I add a bunch of them to be overly cautious.

You can change the plugs on your appliances I think! We moved to France when I was younger and my dad changed the plugs rather than using lots of adapters throughout the house. You cut them off and re-wire them, maybe find a RU-vid video? I think it’s relatively simple! Xxx

It’s so common for expensive things to get lost in these kinds of deliveries. I did it from australia to London and the expensive things didn’t arrive…… they just rely on insurance to deal with it but it’s definitely not a matter of ‘something wrong’….. someone definitely just stole it.

Coffee Machine will likely work with a voltage converter, which is important for all appliances to avoid fire risks anyway. The reason the kettle is so slow is the US is on 110V, and the UK uses 220V. Could also trade it with a family moving to the UK if that doesn't work out - consider military, large businesses that often relocate people!

Just want to mention... if a full container is loaded up then it should arrive at destination sealed with the same seal as it departed the UK with. No one should be opening your container up and checking the contents. Not every container is physically checked by customs. If, for whatever reason, a container is opened up then it should be documented by who and when and why and nothing should be missing. Unless you paid a 3rd party company to actually load your container and it went in a mixed container with other stuff in which case yeah things go missing that way a lot but you have to raise it with the company and they have to do an investigation
As a military family who has moved from England to America it isn’t uncommon for moving companies to steal from your stuff. With a military move we have moving companies who will write everything they pack down as insurance for us as the customer. They even have a separate list for high value items for insurance. So there is a decent chance if you didn’t have an inventory someone along the line has taken advantage of that and stolen your stuff.
I don’t know if anyone’s already commented this, but HomeGoods & Marshalls are America’s version of HomeSense. All are owned by the same company - TJX Companies. I used to work for HomeSense & learned that then. Winners & Sierra are also part of TJX (as well as TK Maxx & TJ Maxx obviously!). 😊

Glad you explained the shipping process as I thought it was like a shipping container taken from a to b like you see on the boats from china. But it’s like individual boxes all moved in / out containers. The boxes were probably written on PlayStation etc which would have sadly made it easier to steal 😢 As it seams all the expensive stuff has been taken. As a lowel hat ain’t cheap! I just hope none of your mums jewellery was taken. Hope it was just costume stuff xxx

When I was in the USA I made a curry from scratch from the recipe I use in England...it came out really well although not as strong it was tasty though 😊
