The green lamp looks so good with the plant and it'll match Christmas decor!! Also green is basically a neutral color so I think it will look good with the neutral tones no matter what you have on the shelves

I like the green lamp option. There will always be some greenery (Olive tree, Christmas tree) in that space to match with.

for the lamp, make sure to check/measure the diameter of the bottome of lamp shade. You don't want it to feel crunched into the corner and touching the walls. Maybe a cylindrical shade instead of the classic tapered shape.

Thank you so much for continuing to do these videos with your dad. I miss my dad so much (he passed away 1/31/23) and I wish I could plan projects and things with him again. Idk how or why but watching your vlogs with your dad...it helps to fill in some of the broken pieces of my heart. 💛💛💛

I’m so sorry to hear you lost your dad, and so recently. I lost mine in 1996 and yesterday I cried twice because I still miss him so much. It hasn’t gotten easier

@eatmyoctopus That seems to be a common theme among people who have lost a parent. I have asked a few how they deal with it and when does it get better. They all say "it doesn't, you just get stronger at dealing with it." Im sorry for your loss as well 😔.... and how do you even respond to this statement? Like thank you doesn't seem quite right but its the only thing that I seem to be able to come up with.

Okay first of all Mitch is an absolute ✨ICON✨ and second of all I’m loving the longer vlogs. Edit: Also a realization I had was that Tara posts on Tuesdays and Fridays. Friday is my birthday, and I’m now super excited because I get to enjoy one of my favorite RU-vidrs on my birthday so that is a plus.

That corner would look good with a cool lantern or pendant type light that you can hang from the ceiling to get it up higher so it isn't hiding behind you when you're at the desk.

I think you should move the macramé wall hanging up a bit and put your tile table underneath! It seems a bit clunky and cluttered trying to force it in the corner when you have all the decorations on the shelves. Which protein drink are you using? I cant seem to find one thats not grainy or gross.

I feel like a wall mounted sconce centered above the shelves would be a better lighting option for the office. I think a lamp on that table is going to seem really low given the height of those shelves right next to it, and depending on the actual dimensions of any lamp you choose it could seem really crammed in the corner there too.

All the lamps look amazing! But the last one looks great because it will break the monotone tallness with the pedestal and the repetition of the shelves since it is curved, so it looks like an art piece. You can also turn it around a bit if the proportions felt weird becuase the shelf could be right next to the lamp shade.

this is just my opinion but i think those lamps were too small or short. i feel like maybe a lamp or light fixture that is hung from the ceiling or maybe just a bit bigger works nicely.

I think I'm an odd one out, but I like option 2. 😂 I feel the others are too tall for the table... but if you didn't like that one, I do like option 4. I like wood elements, though, so its up to you. Also, LIQUID IVS ARE SO DELICIOUS!!!! What's your favorite flavor??? Have you tried the caffeine Yuzu Pineapple? Personal favorites are the Strawberry, Lemon Lime, and then the Yuzu Pineapple. Golden Cherry is delicious, too.

Loving the house decor content! I think full length linen/sheer curtins would be absolutely STUNNING in the living room. For the lamp, I think personally I would go for a tall standalone lamp rather than having it on the stool. I think the stool colour is too white and generally doesn’t fit that space (if that makes any sense!). I would opt maybe for one of those overhanging floor lamps? The house is coming together so nicely and I’m loving all the diy projects!!

I love the office. You could hang a plant from the ceiling to the left of your shelves and the lamp would then be sized correctly because the plant hanging from the ceiling gives it a feeling of being taller than it is. I just bought a great lamp from target. Its white textured and its pretty big its on sale also . its called ceramic assembled table lamp white threshold designed with studio mcgee. $45.50 textured just a thought. I love everything you have designed Yaour dad is awesome too

XOMaCenna has THE most perfect office chair! I would totally reach out to her about it! It's cushy and beige and I think it fits your office SO SO well! And avocado hack! Take off the pit top and if it's green inside no grey or brown splotch in sight then it's a great avocado! I make a lot of guac and often buy 8 avocados and I've NEVER picked a bad once since learning this hack! I hope it helps!

So, a strange comment, but I once viewed a condo that had a basement space like yours that contained rows of shelves of storage but you could not fully stand upright in. But that is not the reason for my comment. My comment is for how they managed to easily maneuver around the space. They had two things. A flat dolly thing that they could put things on, like a Christmas tree and then push it to the entrance door and a chair on wheels that they could push themselves around on while they perused the shelves for what they needed. They also had excellent lighting and the shelves were labeled. Some had baskets / buckets that said what was inside them. It was impressive how organized their seasonal decor was. Of course, we were there to decide if we wanted to buy their condo not to peek into their storage boxes but the agent said that the shelves and lighting would be left in place.

i agree with your dad it will look so much better to do full length ceiling to floor curtains , looks more luxe and they sell great track systems that you can have a handy man install , and you do not have to pay for the cost of custom made .. ( they also seek remote control ones ) also moving the desk back is a yes yes!!

Sorry Tara, I'm gonna say it..🙈 You should consider better protein that has less unnecessary chemicals and sweeteners. It's really easy to research for brands with better ingredients. I personally like Truvani (pea protein).. but I know there are plenty more.

Definitely go with lamp #2 the round one. I'd put it on one of the three shelves you have and then put either a sort of tall vase or a plant on the thing in the corner. Either way the office looks so good. Love it

i think the tall curtains will def be nice BUT the way you get excited about nice sunsets, rain, snow, stormy weather etc you might miss not being able to look through the top windows anymore... unles they're always gonna stay open ofc but you might want to think abut that

None of those lamps works! They are all to short and fat. I think a taller skinnier lamp, would fill the space better. It should reach the second shelf! IMO

As someone who lives and breathes interior design .. I think the table\ pedestal should be moved under the macrame hanging .. it seems to not make sense stuck in the corner.. show it off you worked hard on making it ..

I think whatever your gut is telling you about the lamp… I say stick with a neutral. But I feel like that corner needs some height. Either a tall floor lamp or something on the wall. Idk it feels a little empty. But either way whatever you choose will be great I’m sure!

Please hire someone to come out and give advice about having drapes made and suggest fabric choices. Custom drapery needs to be done by a professional.
