This is the Homee bicycle hook / rack I just hung in my garage. A basic review. You can buy the product here: amzn.to/2PuRH0l HOMEE Bicycle Bike Wall Hook Rack Holder Hanger Stand Bike Storage System for Garage/Shed
Great video thanks! I would add that you may (Or those watching) want to consider upgrading your drywall anchors. I installed these in an apartment where they placed studs 5 feet apart (One of many code violations I found over time). I went to Lowes and they had many good options in the dealing with drywall . I spent 2 dollars for screws and anchors. I have not had a problem, and I am not gentle about about hanging the bike.
I actually didn't even consider using anchors. I put these right into the stud. I wouldn't think anchors could hold a bike at all. Sounds a little bit dangerous. But if you do have to use anchors perhaps in concrete I get what you're saying
@@shadricosuave Dangerous.. Ya I was worried as well at first, but It's been a few years, and they are still on the wall. I used plastic anchors. Granted they were an upgrade from what came in the package... but not much of an upgrade...
I purchased this same Bike wall mount at Canadian Tire store to use with my 29 inch wheel bike and it did not fit my bike front wheel. The hook was too small to access the wheel! But I managed to hang it by the saddle and it works very well!
So funny! I bought some of these hooks 5 years after this video! looking for review seems to be none! So I was like Okay! Lets grab a set 4 for 40$ not bad, not bad at all LOL Bro...... I can assure you not same hooks they made 5 years ago LOL Had a 26 inch Walmart beach cruiser on one! Hear a Huge bang 3am next day....... go out look bike is on the ground. Was like damn maybe i missed the stud! Wait a sec turn light on still on the wall........... F'n hook broke off LOL kid you not the steel hook where they bent it fractured off LOL So I'm like okay maybe just one bad one! LOL check other 3 all seem fine 2 on wall 1 spare 1 broken hook! Toss the spare up...... Hold same bike fine next day.......... SLAM! lol kids 10inch bicycle hooks broke in same place lol bike must weigh 7 pounds lol Pretty sure where bent all 4 hooks must of been badly processed was a shame! Homee hooks 5 years later Shot me down in cold blood in my garage LOL!
Could you fix it without lifting the bike, keeping the bottom wheel on the floor, but still resting on the hook? Save the younger ones lifting the bike.
Yea I dont understand why you would install it like this putting more pressure on the wall and the rim when u can mount it with the back tire resting it on the floor... ??
Good point. I don't remember what was in the video, but most of our bikes are at least 6 inches from the floor. We might have grabbed one for the demo that was on the wrong slot
I still don’t understand how to calculate the height of the rack based on the bike’s size? What should I measure exactly? Please help! I bought exactly the same bracket and already drilled a dozen of holes in my wall and I still can’t find the exact height. The front wheel just doesn’t stay put, and the whole bike doesn’t stay put against the wall. And because of the quarantine right now, my handyman cannot help me and I have to do it myself. I’ll destroy the wall eventually:((
Just try the bike on the wall and add 6 or 8, inches in top then mark the holes., other way is try to place it exactly what heigth you want, and you need someone to mark the hook exactly
Find the stud that you want the bike to anchor too. Then lift the bike up along that stud and mark the top tire on the wall. That will give you a starting point. Then put the rack up around that point and you will see if you have a second person grab the front tire and pretend they're hanging it on the rack that you're holding. Then you're going to have to adjust it up to where you want it while the other person's holding the bike a little bit. Then when you have it off the floor a few inches and it's about the right spot mark the two holes where the screws go on the rack. And that's where you will mount your rack on the stud.
Thank you boys, but I already figured it out long time ago:). Did it by myself, no second person (I’m a woman)! Should’ve made a little video about it:)). But thank you for your great suggestions - will defo help other people!!
@@viktoriakireeva5860 nice one figuring out on your own. would you consider this one if you haven't done with your project? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jq-nh_QP9cI.html
@@Druimmer Hi, Its still free for me. I now turn the front wheel 45 degrees and push the hook up while going 45 to 0 degrees and it hooks properly. It will all come by practice dont worry too much!
It does take a little bit of leverage. I lock the back brake of the tire and just sort of inch it up the wall or sometimes I just lift it from the frame and hook the top. If your bike is heavy it's not going to be super easy.
Messure end of bar to centre of the stem of your largest bars space each unit out that distance and mount the bike 1 front up and the other way around for the next if your short on space well i did that it worked ok without snagging another bike down when removing one . Helps to remove pedals to. Also helps to deflate some air out of your tyres to stop them bouncing about if they get knocked .
I would think so. I think you could put it anywhere just make sure that it's anchored well. If it's on the staircase you should be able to go right into the wood just make sure you anchor it appropriately as to not cause damage. Good luck
I just placed it based on the size of bicycle and also the size of my child who will be taking it down. I had to give my smaller kids a little coaching on how to use their brakes to balance and stabilize the bike to be able lifted up and take it down.
Nice looking bike but poor quality control or poor transport.Rear wheel has major issues right out of the box. ru-vid.comUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Rear axle is bent! Derailleur is misaligned.Since the rear wheel comes assembled I would have expected better.Assembly instructions poorly written, but that was not unexpected...just annoying.I just had the bike checked at a shop and was told that I should contact the seller about getting a whole rear wheel assembly with cartridge. (The bike shop could not do anything to help me).Not a good experience with this bike, so lesson learned.Added 3 stars for excellent customer serviceUpdate Sept 8 2020Just received a complete replacement wheel for free. Great service and an otherwise fine bike.
