And the other beans etc. another tip is to throw out some birdseed (any sort) and let it grow for a bit and cut and dry it & it keeps growing. Hay! 👍 my piggies love it too. Feed stores will have various seeds for very reasonable price and they are open. Also young fruit tree sprouts are well liked too. Tractor supply has a green bale of compressed Timothy hay that will last a good while for $20. They love it too. Let’s make sure our little potatoes have lots of variety!

Shark and I regrow lettuce, celery, and carrot tops in plain water under a light bulb. It is super important to keep the water clean and remove any icky stuff that dies on the original lettuce stump. Some grows better than others, but it is all yummy. She said we can try the wheat grass. JuHuu! Hope everybody is doing ok!

Our Apt. complex owners use weed killer on the lawns so we grow hydroponic (no dirt) grass indoors. It takes about a week to grow and the piggies love it.

You can regrow plant bought or self grown herbs, like basil, parsely etc. It comes back quite afew times. Lettuce is great, it can't be stopped! Ooh 1 thing we discovered - tomatoes from shops, cherry and normal, plant the seeds - voila, a tomato plant. Need some special care, as seedlings can be sensetive. Thanks for the advice, i love the man bun(should call it a man pig), and the slo mo is so sweet! Wheeeeek wheeeek 🌿🍀🐹🌾🌱

I do this as well for my piggies. I do not put any dirt at all. I just cover the bottom of the container with the seeds and then soak them and take care of them each day. By the end of a week, I have fresh growth and the roots form a mat at the bottom. Then I can just pick the mat up and put it in their cage. I have 7 trays going at once each a day older so each day I have a fresh batch for the pigs. Once I take the mat out I put a new batch of seeds and it starts again.

Hi Scotty, I soak the wheat grass seeds overnight in a bowl, then just place them on damp kitchen roll on a tray. They grow really fast without any soil at all, just keep the paper damp. The roots form a mat, so easily lifted off the kitchen roll if desired

You dropped one! 😄 I'm growing stuff too. A neighbour was selling cabbage and bean sprout plants etc to raise funds for nhs. My daughter and I bought a few and I planted them into a grow bag in the garden. Plenty of sunshine for it.

A lot of plant stores have ladybugs you can get that will eat the aphids so your garden would grow better.

Scotty, a spray bottle with diluted dish soap will help get rid of aphids. Fill the bottle with warm water & add 5 drops of dish soap, then spritz down the entire bed of grass, the cage, & immediately around the enclosure. Knowing you, you use a biodegradable dish soap, so if you give the grass a gentle watering a few hours before you let the piggies graze, it should be fine.

I will grow grass in the pockets of my dress, my skirt, I put seeds to my art, if taken by storms, waters, winds stronger than human will power at least there will grow some. I loved this vid, will watch it more than once.

If you need a greenhouse effect for lettuce etc in the cooler months you can use one of the clear storage tubs over the top. Just don’t forget to water it or prop it up on better days.

I live in Sumner County Kansas. Kansas produces lots of winter wheat. Harvest will be in June.

I saw these little pots of what was labeled "cat grass" at a pet store a while back. Turns out it was just wheatgrass but they were charging 7 or 8 bucks for this tiny little pot not much bigger than a coffee cup, a hand full of dirt and some seeds. It would have been perfect for the piggies but I wasn't paying that kind of money, not that they didn't deserve it of course. I bought some seeds instead and need to plant them soon

Love how the one pig kept trying to pull the whole thing under the rainbow bridge with him. That's something my more dominate pig would do. Also loved the slow mo. Luckily I have a small garden with parsley,tomatoes, and bell peppers growing and as for grass, I have a few places in my yard where I don't cut it where I just let it grow so my boys can have fresh grass. Hey Scott if you have a chance check out the fodder for cavies and fodder for bunnies face book groups for more info on growing the grass in large quantities. Fodder is how they finish cattle often times (I'm vegan personally) but it very interesting how they grow it. Same applies for the piggies and bunnies!

I don't know where you can get them, but lady bugs will take care of the Aphids.

Awesome Scotty, I have grown flax shoots for my hammies, they love them. I would say it is possibly their favourite food, as they get eaten straight away, never saved for later. Flax is great for really healthy, shiny looking fur. I couldn't quite tell but it looked like you may have been growing some in front of the wheat grass.I am going to try wheat grass and I love your milk carton pots.

I have been doing this the last few weeks as well. The wheatgrass grows even better if you sprout in advance (in a jar with screen over top and rinse every 12 hours for a couple days). I have been doing mine soil-less and it grows great.

Hey Scotty!! I loved this idea sooo much I bought the wheatgrass growing kit from Thunder Acres. The kit has 100% organic crab meal fertilizer in it. I'm guessing leaving this out of the growing process is the best and safest? I know fertilized grass outside is a big no no and can be very detrimental for piggies health. Is that true also for organic crab meal fertilizer in this kit? Thanks so much for the content and the ideas. Absolutely love the vids and background music! what is that by the way?

I desperately need some advice! We recently lost one of our guinea pigs, Twinkie. Her sister Timbit is now alone, and my dad refuses to let us get any more pigs. Is there anything we can do to keep her company better without a friend? I have a chinchilla, but I worry there would be concern for transmitting any underlying diseases if I let them interact... I don't want to have to dump her on a shelter since so many pigs are homeless already...

i like the wees grass! now i got to tell you that i went to pick up the guinea pig at the store, i have cry too much. you going to think that iam crazy.. but i was thinking that in the store they will lethim die so i rescuehim again. now when i pick him up he was thumping like his heart pulsuating. he was scared, i see they had him in a closet with hay and pellet didnot see water, cause the y did not let me in.. but at least his not going to that horrible place, he staying with me or my son's girlfriend is eager to take him.. i am just a little scare on not caring for him appropriatly, and she got another guinea pig, i took care for him for two months, she bring him hes name is yume he is already a year not sure if he remembers me, but he is tame good, we already put them together, they start rumble strutting, i thought they just did that with sows so i said that they might be gay and thats ok, we are sure they are both bows since we took out their penis.. so we separate them, but i think they will bond nicely the girl got concern like me..Thank you!
