One episode where I really felt bad for Homelander. You could see he actually coulda been a Superman but he was raised by people who didn't even see him as a human being and saw him as a company product.
he's a psychopath who is an existential threat to human society. I don't feel bad one bit. It should have never happened, but nothing about it was ordinary people's fault.
Hell even through the horrible thing that happened to him during his childhood, Dr. vogelbauhm said to Butcher in season 2 that homelander was a kind young boy who had a love for nature and he was intelligent His backstory is fd up
I mean obviously he was not born this way. If they just had some good parents adopt him he probably would have been at least a decent person. Vought has always been the main villain behind everything.
I noticed that the only person Homelander left alive in the lab (Barbara) was the only person who didn't apologize and "forgive" him - same goes for the rest of the series with Homelander never harming the people who stand up to him like Stan Edgar and Dr. Vogulbam (the guy who made him). I think part of it may be that he seeks their approval still, but I'm not an expert
I never thought i would be surprised by the insanity in the Boys series but Homelander's revenge is both interesting and disturbing at the same time. Easily one of the best villains in fictions in my opinion
Ngl, so invested in the Homelander storyline while the others are kinda confusing/messy. You really understand how Homelander came to be. Doesn't excuse what he did at all, but make him more complex that a simple evil egomaniac superman
butcher's storyline is peak, Hughie too, don't know what you talking about. in fact the most emotional scene in the entire series for me is the hughie and is father resolution.
Man i watch a fuckton of reaction of this show and Dani is the first one to guess the lobotomy plot lol, congrats. Btw i was the same, a tv show hasnt made my heart beat as fast then The scene in a long time 😂
For me personally, this was the best episodes of this season so far, I been highly anticipating the reaction for this one. Homelander is one of the greatest villains in Television history. The way one can simultaneously feel sympathy, disgust and fear for him, is what makes such interesting character and complex villain.
Every scene with Homelander was a horror show. When it comes to acting, this was one of the best episodes from Anthony Starr. That man needs an award by the time this series ends.
22:42 You might not have seen the show but in one of the "The Boys presents: Diabolical" episodes an old lady dying of cancer took V and then the cancer itself got powers and became it's own living entity that exited her body and cause a lot of chaos. That's likely what Butcher might be going through right now too. I can also recommend that show. Episode 8 specifically is a canon to "The Boys" backstory episode about Homelander. 24:23 A bit of that Homelander episode showed us small scenes of his torture as a kid as well.
Pretty terrifying how we don’t see what he did to the other staff members that weren’t involved with his experimental torture. We see Barbara trapped in a room with their dismembered mutilated corpses which lets me believe that those poor people who happened to be new faces got a much more painful, slow, and agonizing death than his actual tormentors(Frank and Marty). Pretty scary and kind of grounded to realism if you think about it since they’re victims out there in real life that had to suffer tragic fates because of someone else’s horrible actions. Those people were collateral damage and they knew it too.
that facility is still in operation for a reason. none of those people are clean. They may not have been around to torture homelander, but I'm sure they have done other terrible things. everyone sucks here lol
Icl firecracker way better than starlight💀🙏 feels like the only reason people feel bad for her is that shes on the ”good side” But i rlly cant give much of a shit🤷♂️
Annie went out full Omni-Man on this one, I’m not gonna lie. And there’s been some theories going around that Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character Joe Kessler is Butcher’s hallucination as the darker side of Butcher and Becca is Butcher’s angelic side.
This episode had way too many "nope, not watching this, looking away" moments. We're only at episode 4 too. I can't imagine how it escalates from here.
The most unsettling episode to date. The moment Homelader arrived at that underground lab....actually it wasnt the knowledge that they were all gonna die, it was just the sheer terror of not knowing what he was gonna kill them. Made me relieved that none of the Boys were down there when it happenee.
😍Dani🥰we’re at Myrtle Beach. We have a few of our younger brothers. Zella, came downstairs and said. “I don’t want to go back to Chicago.”😭 It’s been crazy gang. Murda just said. “Give lil folks the code to the beach house.” Let me go gang. I’ll finish watching later. On King David.
Awesome episode! Episode 5 and 6 even better. The worst thing Homelander did the whole episode was laser the door shut. She's stuck in there with all of those bodies. That's unimaginable.
22:46 thats the funniest thing ive heard her say lol also theres a fan theory that the tumor in his head absorbed the v and now it's like a cancerous vd up tumor
bro imma say that watching stuff with Dani has gotta be an acquired taste cuz their reads are SO on point that after a couple different shows/movies i'd consider anything they say a damn spoiler even if they've never seen it before XD XD
Chick with the blond streaks I saw how you reacted to frank being burned alive. You didn’t seem to care about the fact that frank tortured homelander in that oven as a child you didn’t see to care they homelander went through hell cause of those people you only seemed to care about a grown man getting killed in the oven by homelander I woulda hoped you would have reacted the same to hearing what frank did to homelander but no you only gave a shit about the man who tortured a kid I think it says something about you
Idk but the other girls but the one in the middle definitely reads spoilers which is fine IDC but I can always tell her genuine reaction to seeing something for the first time and her spoiled reaction. One is a lot better but maybe nobody else notices but me idk 😅
