Kinda heart breaking to see how no one as much as bats an eye.

Here in Canada, we don't really have stray dogs (I've lived here 27 years and have never seen one). If Lily had started following me around, I would have brought her home in a heartbeat. It would have taken literally a minute for me to fall in love with her and adopt her. Sometimes I wish I would find a dog.

I agree so much. I've seen so many videos where the person trying to help the dog gets too impatient and spooks the terrified dog. They're good people with the heart in the right place and nothing but good intentions, but they just don't always have the patience to do it slowly, the excitement gets the better of them and they make the move too soon. This lady was so amazing in how she made the poor dog not even flinch.

The problem is, the more you work to solve a problem, the more the other side works to create the problem. If you are willing to take in any abandoned dog, people are far more likely to abandon the dog and they will do it with absolutely no regret.

I’ve seen some abused stray dogs behaving almost as good as this Lilly after rescued, even though they still have some issues, that tells me they definitely understand the situation and intentions of humans around them. Animals are basically borne to be only knowing good intentions since their natural mind is all innocent... ❤️

You are overwhelmed, panicking, losing everything....not knowing what to do or where to turn. Especially, if family won't/ can't help, etc. Worry about your pets & family! Even then.....if you did see a Animal in need? We ALL can do something. Give them water, leftover lunch, a hello, etc. But, most of all a warm touch, a few pat's on head, a nice talking too, etc. Good luck with recent situation.....I pray that you and EVERY member of your family is going to come out on top!!

I remember there was this one stray dog in my neighborhood that everyone would leave some food in their front yards or sidewalks but no one did anything to help her find a home until one day someone called the pound and god knows what ever happened to the poor dog. I wish I could’ve done something

Baby Lunar you and me both. I have a pit outside, but she is taken care of. Someone discarded her, my grandson found her and brought her to my house. They had no place fixed for a dog and we did. He wanted us to keep the dog until he could fix a place at their home. Every bone in that dogs body could be counted. My grandson was crying like a baby at the condition of the dog. Well a couple of years ago, he told me that he was ready to take her home with him. I told him, “no sir, it has been to long now and she is not going anywhere”. There was no way I could let her go, she had been here about 6 years. She is a very sweet and loving dog, she is so big and ways over 90 lbs. We really had no idea what she would be like when he brought her here, but here she knows she is loved, fed and cared for.

Me, too. Had my street rescued Irish Wolfhound for 11 years. He had the sweetest and most loving personality, and he adored kids. I think the rescues are the most loyal because they know you saved them.

But no, you would never see what happened IN THIS VIDEO in the states. We have a very dog friendly culture here. In fact, many of these type of organizations like Paws for Hope first started in the US (not worldwide) in Pennsylvania. So, no disrespect to you either, but you may want to do some better research before commenting.

I was actually taken aback that she didn't even flinch with the thermometer ... I think she might've thought "If it doesn't hurt a lot, I don't care". Also the fact that the girl who feed her was there too helped with the anxiety.

I remember a Twilight Zone episode about a man who dies trying to save his raccoon dog, and ends up at what appears to be the gates to heaven, but they won't let his dog in. He says "no way", and continues down the road until he finds another gate, and they have no problem with the dog. Turns out the first gate went to the unpleasant place. (Great story, and well done.)

Sara, please let me know. Did you ever pass by over a street person who asked for help? Or did you see a street person somewhere and buy him/her a serving of food? How comes that it is horrible when it comes to dogs, but when it comes to humans it is not perceived as horrible? Do not take me wrong, I'm here because I love dogs, I even have adopted a dog, is with me, his name is Leo, but what I have realized is that people's heart is moving towards dogs rather towards humans. When we see a poor child on the street, why can't we have pity and act to help him as we do for dogs? I mean, who adopt children so often as we adopt dogs? Think about it.

Our family has rescued numerous animals over the years by taking them to a shelter or vet. There's no way we would ever walk past or ignore a starving or hurt animal.

But you can do something you can contact a rescue. You can take them food or ask for donations to be able to feed them. You can stop and pet them hug them talk to them and show them that not all humans intend to harm them. Thats what I did before I was finally able to open my own rescue

They walk past for two reasons. First there are THOUSANDS like her on the streets in Romania. The people are so accustomed to it they don't think twice. Second the poverty in Romania is unbelievable and pets are a luxury item that few can afford so the culture of pet keeping hasn't had a chance to take root as it has in the West. Romanians who DO get involved in trying to rescue these poor animals should are laughed at and worse by their compatriots. There are a number of Romanians doing fabulous work with abandoned pets but they do it at enormous personal cost - financially too. There is very little chance of these dogs finding good homes in Romania so it is a desperate battle to get them out of there and that of course is expensive...

Our ancestors used these dogs ancestors to hunt. And now due to "mOdErN tEcHnolOgY" we don't use dogs anymore. So people started abandoning them cuz "tHeY arE NoT CuTe EnOugH" I hate it man.....
