One of my coworkers found out I enjoy repairing small engines and asked me to look at a small Homelite Leaf blower she found that wasn't working.
It's long, I'm sorry but this was the process I took to repair this blower so she could use it. Except for a bit of time, didn't spend very much doing this repair! I hope you enjoy!

My dad has this exact same blower. I remember he bought it when I was in middle school, I’m now 41! It just stopped working properly last week. Base gasket is leaking . It will run, but with low power. Couldn’t even imagine the hours it has on it. I think he paid 80 dollars. Safe to say he got his money’s worth :)

Cheers mate. I’m from the UK and recently picked one of these up second hand. The bulb was cracked something fierce and the fuel lines were ripped to shreds.

Thanks for a super helpful video. Kit i bought worked but couldn't believe that it was harder getting on the fuel filter than pulling this new lines through. Works like a charm now. This blower is probably 15 years old and was a refurb when I got it.

The video was interesting; you showed and explained the steps carefully; I have a similar issue with one like this carburetor. I will look at this again to correct the problem.

Thanks buddy. I just bought a used one for $15. It appears that someone changed out the lines and the bulb was clear. I need to get a spark plug. But keep your fingers crossed for me.

Hey the clear hose was for the return call he yellow for the fuel feed. The yellow hose is more ethanol resistant

The carb kit is for multiple carbs, so it has multiple diaphragms. Find the one that matches what you have and use it an the matching gasket. On the pump side, the diaphragm goes on the carb body and gasket on top of it. On the metering side the gasket goes on first and then the diaphragm.

I found one of these and had to replace the primer bulb, runs now and have to adjust the low mixture, but it didn't have an air filter, I'm looking to buy a filter and wondering what it looks like if they use one.

Just picked up one of these. Is the yellow lever on top the throttle. The one I have hasn’t have a throttle., not sure how to adjust the revs down thanks.

I am repairing the same item.. in this case I ordered a new tank with lines in it already. The thing is, now that I have the new tank on the unit, I notice that instead of the two lines coming out near the top edge of the tank, this one has the fuel lines coming out of the lower edge of the tank. Is this anything to worry about? The fuel lines are clear and look much stronger than the brittle rubber lines the original had, but I wonder about fuel leaking out from around the lines coming out the tank. Would you worry about it, or just run with it?

where did you get the carb kit from ?? also that was a great trick to use the electrical connector to adjust the carbs i wull use that when out in the field great video

i have this same one i came across while collecting stuff i just dont think its wortht fixing if you have to buy all those parts . they only sell for like 30 dollars tops or 40..so spending 20-30 to fix it isnt worth it...if i kept it for myself maybe id fix it up

Wouldn't it be easier to push from the top on the fuel lines? I guess there might be a time to use the hook tool though.

hook is there to make it somewhat easier to install the lines. hard to get hands, tools and the lines into the find the hard to reach holes in the tank.

I have the same one, my fuel cap also seems to be leaking out of the center. Does yours do that too? Seems to be a small valve there. Do I need a new cap?

good demonstration, but I puzzled why in impact driver is necessary to take out a few screws. that is a good way to strip the threads. Also, it is distracting that the wrong terms are used in a "how to" video. Shows lack of expertise. There is a difference between screws and bolts; fuel line and hose; and it is called a spark plug wire, not a "holder". There is no way for a 2-cycle engine to "4-cycle", as you state in you text commentary. Lastly, there is no return line, that purpose of that line is to prime.

A whole new carb, with new fuel line and primer, is only $12. Perhaps it would hav been cheaper than buying a primer kit, rebuild kit and fuel line kit, to fix an old carb? The cause of fuel line damage and clogged carbs, is from ethanol in our fuel. This can be avoided by buying the ethanol free pre-mixed fuel, or by buying aviation fuel which has no ethanol.
