OK first of all this is NOT a home made rifle. This is a Modified rifle, VERY FAR FROM HOME MADE.... Machine your own action and barrel then you will have the right to call it HOME MADE. Anyways, nice bolt gun, I really like it :)
At first I thought you put a Chote stock on a Savage, or Rem 700 and was proud of it.... I was way off...a Mossberg and a stock machined out of aluminum! And you shortened the action! I'm impressed. Nice job.
Since then I have built several rifles using the best of everything. This rifle still out shoots all of them. that Mossburg trigger is better than a Jewell trigger and I love the m14 mags. I have won matches with it. Even when they put me in the unlimited class. shooting against 30pound bench rest rifles. sometimes everything just works great together. It was just luck on my part.
Yah it is but I made it that way. I was hunting with an Accuracy International rifle and 2 times I accidently hit the mag release.If I hadn't heard the mag hit the ground I would have lost it. A quick mag change is nice but no mag at all is horible. This gun you need pull the mag release and pull the mag out. 2 hands. It needs to be a concious effort. After all it's a 10 or 20 round mag in a sniper rifle.
