Thanks so much. Yes it Is one of my holiday favorites. Great idea on the double batch.. lol. Merry Christmas happy holidays to you and your family.👍👍♥️♥️🍷🍷
One thing that I always notice s your obvious pleasure at sharing what you’ve come up with for your audience. And it’s infectious. This recipe for Irish cream can be made stronger by adding some Everclear. Use the highest proof of it you can get. It’ll lengthen the shelf life of your Irish cream because the higher the alcohol percentage, the longer it’ll keep. To stabilise and avoid the mixture splitting, you could add pasteurised egg yolk. In my family we have a recipe for ‘Advocaat’, which is Belgium and The Netherlands’ “egg nog on steroids”. It’s a mixture of egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and the highest proof alcohol you can find. The high sugar content and high alcohol content will not only make it surprisingly shelf stable but it’ll “cook” the yolks. This means that after several days for the mixture to set, you’ve got yourself an alcoholic vanilla-egg custard. It’s so thick you almost can’t pour it, thicker than ketchup, and it’s meant to be spooned, not drunk. Exceptionally delicious over ice cream (with a dollop of whipped cream for extra decadence, yum!), piped into cream puffs, or worked into trifle-like desserts… or daintily (greedily?) eaten with a little silver spoon out of a cut crystal glass. It al depends on your preference and mood.
I make the same recipe with the following changes: * Unsweetened cocoa instead of syrup. * Two full cups of Irish whiskey. * Whipping cream instead of half and half.
I will definitely try this! However, have you ever hear of Atholl Brose? This drink is based on highland legends. Ingredients: 1.75 L water, 3 cups oatmeal +/-, Honey, vanilla and 1.75 L of Scotch whiskey. My version: use apple juice instead of water and add cinnamon to the seasonings. Combine water & oatmeal and let it sit for 45 - 60 minutes. Strain the oatmeal from the liquid leaving a milkey texture. Add your honey, vanilla and cinnamon to taste. You will want to make it stronger since you will be adding the Scotch later. When everything is stirred in add the scotch and set aside in a large container. Let it sit for about 3 days (if you can wait that long) and stir or shake every few hours to suspend the ingredients. When you bottle it you will decant sediment and store. The taste will continue to mellow into a fine after dinner drink. You can have fun with the recipe using chocolate, or maple syrup. Let loose your imagination.
Recipe 1 Cup Half and Half or Heavy Whipping Cream 1 14 Oz can Sweetened Condensed Milk 1 Tsp Instant Coffee granules or crystals 3 Tbsp Chocolate Syrup (Hersheys used in this recipe) 1/2 Tsp Almond Extract for Authentic Irish Cream 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract 1 1/2 Cup Whiskey
If I bring some homemade hard apple cider that has been jacked to 24 proof and some homemade Maker's Mark bourbon balls, can I come to your Christmas party? LOL
Omg I'm gong to become a really bad alcoholic 😅 to many delicious drinks 🍸 I love this channel always awsome I hope you two have a beautiful Thanksgiving. Much love and respect happy holidays 🤗
I just tried out your recipe guys.. But I only had the Bushells coffee in the bottle, which Is the coffee and chicory essence.. OMG.. turned out like the real McCoy.. So yummy In a glass with ice cubes.. 👍
@@HowToDoneRight ok thank you🍷 I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!! keep up the good work! 💪 Maybe you can do a couple videos on how to make homemade soda you can carbonate and safely bottle in beer bottles for long term storage? 👀🙏
Omg if you make it, it won't last a year. Lol... with the cream in it I would not risk trying to preserve it that long. You could probably experiment with lactose powder instead of cream but I never tried that.
@@HowToDoneRight can you do one with the preservatives in it to show the difference and for sealing something like this? I searched and could not find out. Even if you do not make it, point out the differences. It would be a good video.
That is a good idea.. the problem is the dairy. You could use Lactose powder just would not be even comparable. Trust me make this it will not last a week.
@@HowToDoneRight I agree and love your videos. Your energy is great and you reply too. The only thing I was thinking is doing what you said and making this as gifts. I have made a similar version that you showed but with malted mix. It was great. I was looking for a way to premade this and store longer because like everyone else, they are swamped during the holidays too. I will keep looking for alternatives and I know of a winery that makes this, I will ask what they use to extend the longevity of it. Thanks again and have a good day.
9/7/23: I've seen a LOT of videos on this subject and, for the most part, everyone uses the same ingredients. However, I'm an expert when it comes to how the original Bailey's Irish Cream tastes, and no matter which way the recipe is made using ingredients everyone claims will make it taste like the original, or better, there's no way ANY of them tastes like it. There's something missing and I don't know how they do it in Bailey's Irish Cream-ville, but the chocolate really turned me off. I don't taste the chocolate in the original version as I did in this recipe. I made it yesterday, and I do not like it. This isn't a negative reflection on your recipe, because, to reiterate, everyone uses the same ingredients. It's just that you said it tastes better than the store-bought version, which I have to disagree with entirely. If I had a blindfolded taste test, I'd know for sure which one was the store-bought versus the copycat version. I wish I knew what was missing 'cause I've spent BIG bucks buying this drink at my local Bev Mo store and I should own stock in the company because of it! 😆Thanks for trying, though.
Your wrong. But have a right to your opinion. Many people have tried this recipe if you read the comments and is number 1. You must have messed something up or used cheap whiskey. Can't skimp on that.
@@HowToDoneRight 9/9/23: "Messed something up or used cheap whiskey"? I didn't mess up anything. Despite your speculation, I followed your recipe, measurements and used top notch ingredients to the letter without skimping. I had to because I was trying to achieve that great original flavor so I don't have to spend an arm and a leg buying the real McCoy anymore. And I used the same whiskey that's said to be used in the original Bailey's -- Jameson! I was not trying to offend you, and it's great that others tag your recipe as #1, their entitled opinion, but unfortunately, in my opinion, your recipe does not taste like the original whatsoever, and everyone is not going to agree that it does. Again, thanks for trying and have a good day!
@@HowToDoneRight Well, enjoy making it and saving money 'cause it's expensive, no doubt, but I'd continue buying the original 'cause ain't nothing like the real thing, and no recipes out there that come close. At least I gave it a good try in order to form an opinion. Take care, HTDR!
Definition of a true dickhead, always has to have the last word. It's amazing you posted a comment at at because it was worthless. But HEY! Continue paying top $$ for the real stuff and have a remarkable day!!!
