Bear meat makes great sausage! I have tried several kinds of sausage with bear meat in the past but this is a taste test between three kinds I have not tried before. We kinda screwed up what we were trying to do but the sausage was very good!

That’s great stuff. You can’t figure out which is which but that makes the taste test a blind test of sorts. I’ve got 2 of those and plan to try them on antelope and mule deer. Keep up the videos and Happy Hunting!

Hilarious you two! My wife and I enjoyed that. As soon as you spun the pan on the stove all bets were off- lol. I know of a bear to try those on 😉

just a word of warning.. I did the same thing. I sent my wife to get the cheapest fatty bacon out there. I happen to use Leggs seasoning.. which of course has some salt.. The issue I had was the mix has way to salty. I already had it in casing. I was lucky enough to try some and realized the bacon I used was loaded with sodium. Anyways I had to get more pork butt and remix everything over again.. So for me, no sodium bacon if they even have it.

Next time get bacon ends and pieces, you can usually get them in 3 lb or 5 lb packages and they're much better than getting the cheapest bacon.

@@BowhuntingRoad so if I may ask. the bacon you got it must have been fresh, they probably had no sodium correct

@@MrBowmanmt Never heard of such a thing as no sodium bacon. Far as I know all bacon is cured with salt.

Glad to hear that they are all good but ya keeping track of which is which would be better LMAO!!! We just made some European Garlic sausages out of snow goose and pork belly fat smoked to 150 internal temperature with a little hickory and apple wood. Turned out pretty darn good but I think next time I will leave out the hickory and just use apple wood. I definitely want to make some bear meat sausage with that European garlic mix I think it would be great 👍🏻

Perused your videos. Great content! But, I didnt see anything that shows entire process, from gutting, skinning, processing (making cuts), rendering fat, etc. Maybe next year? 😉 Again, great content!
