I see liability lawsuits from whatever brand of weed eater to chainmaker to personal! This isn't the 1st time somethin' like this has been attempted! I've seen anything from steel cable to chain marketed.
Acá en argentina se consiguen unos discos de 22 cm de diámetro con 6 u 8 dientes o cuchillas fijas ,listo para poner en moto guadaña ,y lo que le hago es le alargo esas cuchillas asta llegar a 28 cm de diámetro a vase de soldarle chapa de acero ,,luego lo recorto para que quede balanceado ,lo lustro que brille ,lo caliento con soplete a gas asta ponerlo color azul rojizo ,dejo enfriar y le saco el angulo de filo ( imitando que se gasto,para que no tire si agarra algo) corta muy bien ,es súper liviano para el motor ,y se puede cortar para juntar el pasto como para llevar a un animal y alimentarlo ,también permite cortar casi a carpir el piso ,ase 10 años lo ise y hoy tengo dos disco de eso en uso, uno de 6 filo y el otro de 8 filo
I prefer use my Kubota lawn tractor tu cut grass ,more safe that this arrangement ready to destroy maybe your legs! Good nylon wires make this job in safe conditions, if necessary, a trimmer blade is OK.
Me parece que te equivocaste, claramente cuando el video se inicia, se ve que limás ambos dientes el cortante y el de altura, fijate no vas a tener un accidente ¡¡jajajaj

Hola¡ y... ¿no hubiera sido mas efectivo hacerlo por el revés? ¿porque no utilizar los dientes de corte, reafilables, y utilizar algo totalmente, a mi parecer, inconveniente como las levas de tracción... Porque sera que los empresas que fabrican los discos de cadenas de acero discos con cuchillas de acero nunca rompen y los discos de corte circular nunca rompen, pero cuando un particular lo fabrica siempre tiene que romper.

@@angargoy7181 the trimmer sounds like it is hating life, that could just be a fuel/tune problem though. The total weight isn't the problem in my opinion, it is the lack of balance and the way the weight is being flung around, a circular disk has much better balance and more inertia whereas the chain will be straightening/flattening out and throwing all of its mass in two directions. I would actually suggest trying some more mass in the centre and either making the "carrier" round OR adding mass to the axis opposite the axis of the chain when it is spinning to offset the weight and balance it. When I wear my saw chain out I might have to try this myself, love your work
It's good to think beyond The box I have a couple tools I'm working on beyond The box keep experimenting but the chain deal he did he went way overboard too much weight the barbed wire it just rips around and doesn't cut
