I use pita shells. Takes less than a minute to fry them in some fresh oil. Or brush them with melted butter and put them in the air fryer for a few minutes. Tastes great 😋
Damn it, Jay... I thought I had the week's menu done... and then I clicked the notification and my wife, who was standing behind me and LOVES your recipes, saw the title of the video. Now this is a MUST on the menu. I agree with Tiffany - chicken chalupa supreme is my go-to with a strong dose of fire sauce. Thanks again for a great video and I hope you and all the fans have a wonderful holiday!!
Man you are a life saver! We were supposed to make tacos for my daughter's bday party but after forgetting taco shells at the store we had to come up with something. We live over 30 minutes from the grocery so spending 1 hr + to retrieve them wasn't an option. After watching this video I had the courage to try it but I had to substitute for vegetable oil because that's all I had on hand and they still came out amazing. It was a big hit and everyone loves them! Definitely going to remember this recipe.
Looks yummy! Next time: don't drain the the ground beef. A lot of that is water, and you can cook that down even more and make it that much more delicious! great channel! Can't wait to see what else you put out
Just wanted to say thank you Jay! I live on a military base overseas where all we have is a McDonalds and a Subway. I have made your chalupas recipe so many times and paired it with a copycat baja sauce recipe to try and get a taste of home 😅 i miss TB and Chic-fil-a the most! I have received so many positive comments when i make these for guests. They often say it is better than TB and that it satisfied their fast food cravings 🎉 thanks again!
Thank you so much for the awesome recipe. I'm getting ready to roll out my chalupas now. I'm sick of getting hard as a rock, stale chalupas as well. Besides, homemade is best! Can't wait❤️
I always get black bean chalupas. Nobody ever orders them so they have to be made fresh. Lol. And theyre super tastey. I wish i knew how to get my homemade black beans to taste like theirs.
You're just so fun to listen to! I love listening to your narration. Ha, play dough! Fun times! I can't wait to try this! My nephew works at Taco Bell, thankfully they haven't had hard chalupas. That's my fave thing to eat. Beef chalupa Supreme. Yum. I can't wait to try your seasonings too! Homemade is always better! Thanks for the recipe!
Those red tomatoes are so bright and beautiful with your camera. Thanks I'm going to make them first time today seeing up for Super Bowl 🎉 party with my big brother and his kids. Thank you God Bless you and keep you cooking !
THANK YOU!!! For having this recipe!! I also only go for the chalupas at Taco Bell. Kept thinking as I eat thier hard cold shell, I wonder if I can make these myself???!!?? Now I can!!!
Thank you for the best recipe EVER from Taco Bell!! The only thing I love ordering is the Beef supreme chalupa, the recipe is easy to follow, now I can make these delicious things at home 😁 no more Taco Bell for me, they are highly over priced with barely any meat in the shells, it's ridiculous, it's a big complaint, about 95% of people agree! I already make their chicken quesadilla and they come out just as good, if not better! Can't wait to try this recipe out, thank you for sharing!
😱 thank you for the recipe on the shells! Also, Baja beef chalupa the best… they won’t make them at t-bizzle any more but you can switch the sour cream out for a seasoned ranch (almost as good) but never again will I get a chalupa from there. Thanks again!
I figured I'd add a tip in here as a way to say thanks. After browning your meat leave just a bit of water in the pan and add you're seasonings. Then hit it with a stick blender and break up all the big chunks of meat. It makes the meat have the same fine texture and taste of taco bell meat. I always do this with tacos it's so much better!
When I want to be sad and disappointed I eat Taco Bell, when I wanna be happy again and not disappointed I watch your videos that make me regain faith in humanity
I am addicted af to black bean chalupas..black beans are really slept on at Taco Bell, but I prefer them to Taco Bell’s low quality meats. It’s also a sure way to get fresh chalupas because they don’t premake black bean chalupas!
It looks so good I love the beef chalupas I never had the other ones if make it at home I will not be going back to Taco bell this looks delicious Mr Jay I love ground beef chalupa the chalupa shell looks good to it's so soft
Easy way to fry shell: dip 1/2 of shell in 1st than fold the other uncooked half over top of the other end you started. Doing it this way, doesn't break the shell and it's easier. The recipient he uses is still great though.
@Honey Bee, I just finished making my dough, and I substituted 2 Tbsp butter. (I don't like to cook with "shortening" either.) I have done this on other recipes and it always turns out fine. 💕
You’re absolutely right! Taco Bell is so inconsistent withe their food . Also, I’ve seen the workers wiping off sweat from their heads with their hands while making food. Disgusting ! 😮
Thanks for sharing Chalupa shells we're a HIT HIT HIT for my family last night. So much I'm on chalupa duty again tonight. We had shrimp yesterday today is chicken 👍🏾🙂
Jay man it got me points on the wife scale I BBQ anything my wife works on Friday I don't but anyway I usually BBQ something for her on Friday when she gets home from work saw your video tried it was amazing got so many wows and ooooh friend thank you God bless and make more videos
I always, always get nacho cheese chicken chalupas. _EVERY.SINGLE.TIME._ I order those expensive ass things; they come out hard & stale as hell! Could use them as a damn weapon, havin ass chalupas. THEN, when you go back through, telling them you want a *fresh* one, they huff & puff, acting like it's coming out their paycheck! Hallelujah, thank you!
Just got done ordering at taco bell, and it was nasty. I said "surely there has to be a recipe out there to make these from scratch" Found you and so glad that I did. Thank you thank you thank you!!! I will never eat there ever again.
Wow, you've got so many good recipes. I'm gonna sub to you, and I don't even mind sharing some of my recipes too. We're trying to learn to cook everything at home and quit getting ripped off by places like Taco Bell, Taco Cabana, Panda Express, etc., and many other fast food jip-joints. They're just too expensive now. This stupid chapula is $5 bucks in Houston, Texas. So, I've got to learn to figure out the Taco Bell steak.
Looks great ❤ but a lil tip to keep them soft & bendable after yu fry them cover then wit a towel like a cloth right after yu take them out the pan.thank me later
I haven't been to Taco Bell in years. Since the ninetys. I cook my own food at home. I don't eat fast food on a regular basis i cook and make my own food and I take pictures of what I make and I have to be careful what I eat in sensitive to gluten.
