🟢Citric acid information:
When citric acid and sodium hydroxide lye (NaOH) are combined, sodium citrate is created. Sodium citrate works as a chelator in soap.
A chelator traps metal ions such as calcium and magnesium that can be found in tap water.
These metal contaminants can cause rancidity and soap scum in handmade soap.
A chelator binds to these metals so that they can’t bind to the soap molecules. This way the soap won’t react with them and the soap's lather improves + shelf life increases.
Citric acid does not lower the pH of soap. Instead it consumes some of the lye and increases the superfat. Add 6 g extra lye for every 10 g of citric acid added to a soap recipe if you want to keep the superfat % at the same level.
How much citric acid should be added to soap?
Usage rate in bar soap is 1-2% of the oil weight.
How to use citric acid
Add citric acid to the distilled water and dissolve completely before adding the lye, or make a separate solution of citric acid and distilled water and add to the oils.

Being a South Indian i never released how hard it is for people to break open the coconut and take out coconut milk. A suggestion rather than using stainer along with small cloth just use a bit bigger cloth and twist on both sides to squeeze the coconut milk out. How they do it for cheese making using cheese cloth.

Greetings, your (SECRET) soap making looks amazing, I say "secret" because there is no ingredients listing while making the soap. And, a note for future videos...wayyyy too much background noise, with slamming of your dishes, yet I enjoyed the soft background music. I would most definitely watch more of your videos without so much (utensils) background noise...hurts my inner eardrums when using earphones. Giving thanX for sharing. Much respect and love 💪🏾🙏🏽

Lovely recipe; An easier way to soften coconut its to put in in the hot oven for maybe 5 minutes or on top of stove's top, tap it on all sides and crack it open. Then grate the meat and use cheese cloth, so much easier.

Hi, what is the name of the little white cloth that you used to put inside of the spring there because when I try to use a napkin or paper towel inside of my screen or it doesn’t come out and pour out like yours do because it’s just really give me back the olive oil you color instead of mix with the spirulina

I am from PHILIPPINES,,it's easy to break open the coconut by using the back of a big thick knife for safety not to accidentally hurt yourself and than we use a manual or electric coconut grater, next we squeeze the coconut and use a cheesecloth to strain it...I learn all of it during my young age

The first time I watched one of your video I thought that you were angry due to the slamming down of your utensils and tools, the louder sounds sounded like suppressed frustration to me. Now I realise this is an aesthetic and your video style, part of your niche as it were. And I love it, so long as those crashes are not too abrupt. You usually balance out the sound effects perfectly, just like your beautiful soap making. There are a couple of clashed here that were a bit too much, and I started to think about your life state rather than the soap making itself. Nothing wrong I conclude, it just became a distraction, just my personal thoughts only. It’s okay if others disagree. I love it, the audio, so long as it’s not toooo much. Your recipe is absolutely amazing, in its creative idea, in design, form, colour, and ingredients. You are one of my favourite teachers and soap artist. Peace!🦋
