Homemade Custom Axle Nut Socket

In this episode I will show you the custom axle nut socket that I made. I needed a three and a half inch socket to remove the axle nuts on my dump truck. I couldn't find it locally and I found it online but it would take about a week to deliver so I decided to make my own. All the dimensions I provided in this video are for the relationship between the tool and the nut head. I didn't talk about the thread size to minimize confusion. I have built many custom sockets in the past in many shapes and sizes. This is a good tutorial if you are planning to build a similar thing. This video includes fabrication tips, safety tips and welding tips. I hope you will enjoy this video as I enjoyed making it for you. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me and I will be happy to answer your questions. I appreciate your like, share, comment and subscription to my channel. Please be safe and have a good day.
Happy New Year

You should send this video to all those guys that work on trucks in Pakistan because they could use it believe me.

I think the previous mechanic is also in need of this video. I don't like to see mechanics using the wrong tools. Thank you for watching and commenting on my video.

Nice, don’t blame you based on the cost to buy a socket that size for a one off job

Nice and honest project. Plz dont use the ratchet as a breaker bar. You will end with the square snapped.

How do I become good at getting angles?
@SalamSayhood
@SalamSayhood Год назад
Hello, I apologize as I am not sure of your question. Do you need help getting the math or cutting the angels?

@@SalamSayhood the math part
@SalamSayhood
@SalamSayhood Год назад
In the video, I explained it in detail on how to calculate the angles. However, if you need help to calculate angles for something other than the subject of the video then please let me know and I'll do my best to explain it to you. Each project requires a different approach. Keep in mind all angles calculation should follow the geometry math rolls.

Just draw a 3.5" square. Then find the centre point of each line. Then a point 1.75" either side of each centre point and join the ends of those points with a straight line. Ruler is the only item required. Simple. You made it look unnecessarily hard.
@SalamSayhood
@SalamSayhood 6 месяцев назад
To draw a square, you need a square, so you had to use square. You have a RU-vid channel, whenever you have time, make a video showing what you are talking about, let me know and I will go and watch it. Your comment is not very clear to me. Or you can elaborate on your thoughts on how to draw a hexagon from a square using only a ruler. Thank you for watching.
