The best source of calcium mineral is homemade chicken broth or beef broth freeze it into preserve jars then when you serve their food scrape off a teaspoon out of the jar mix in food then do your normal microwave heating & serve it

Awesome well balanced recipe! I’ve noticed a lot of homemade dog food is veggie heavy and doesn’t include liver or organs (an important element needed in dog nutrition).

I made this recipe and my dogs LOVED it. Just a word of advice, you do not have to chop then weigh the spinach. It follows the same concept of 'what weighs more a pound of feather or a pound of rocks - neither they weight the same'. Volume does not affect weight. So you can weigh first, then chop your ingredients to make prep easier. Overall, I thought this was a terrific recipe that is well balanced for dogs.

Thank you for this. I have finally found something they will consistently eat. I lost a baby to cancer and ever since then I have been cooking for them. I've always worried that I wasn't giving them all they needed. The supplements in the food makes me feel so much better when I am feeding them.

Your dogs have a good mom, lucky 🍀 I have a 5 month old Yorki, he refuse to eat all kind of food, I try Frye, wet, fresh from very expensive company, vet recommend other wet they sell and NOT, he does not like any food so I was desperately as a new Yorki mom and cook same food I used to cook for my daughter when was baby using liver, chicken met, spinach, carrot. He love it, so I start looking healthy recipes for Yorkie and find you, Thank you very much 😊❤️

Nikki, I am afraid of dogs because I was chased by a dog when I was a little girl and have not gotten over the fear that I felt while running, but I am absolutely in love with Bentley and Albert. They are so adorable! :) They are so blessed to have someone like you to care for them. You are such a good fur baby mommy, too!

Hi Nikki, you have such love for your pup pups! 🥰 I highly suggest an instant pot. It saves time a lot of time and dishes. I have a similar recipe but use beef stew chunks and liver instead as my dog is sensitive to chicken. I put all the ingredients in the pot including the rice, with broth or water, same amount needed for rice. Seal it and pressure cook... use a potato masher to break up the cooked chunks and it comes apart easily as tender shredded beef. Lots of videos on RU-vid for making dog food in the instant pot. 😁

I make my lil girl food too. BUT I use ground turkey & beef liver, yams, carrots, kale, apple sauce, eggs, grated cheese. When all combined I bake in the oven meatloaf style. I make a month's worth, pkg in portion size bags then freeze. I have tasted it and I LOVE it so much that I always make a couple patties for turkey veggie burgers for myself. That way I can season w/a little salt. lol.

This is such a great recipe! I recently adopted a Yorkie and he's a picky eater, but considering what the dog shelter was feeding him (just kibble with a bit of water), I can't blame him. Going to definitely make him this!

I really appreciate this video, I love the idea of feeding homemade, seems like a nice recipe. Only comment of mine is, I prefer to feed dogs separately, because otherwise a dog might get more than the other and it's important they each get the right amount

Awww....I love this. I've been doing so much research to start feeding my dogs a homemade real food diet and throw away that toxic commercial dog foods. I must try this recipe. My research so far says dogs fed a natural homemade diet live 3+ years longer than other dogs of their breed.

The start is hilarious!!! Thank you for making this video. The dogs are so adorable. I was at a loss when my 19 yr old fur baby had to be put on special prescription kidney care food and he didn't care for of the types available so I started cooking for him and problem solved. I add Pet-Tinic (for vitamins and minerals) when I serve him the food.

Gorgeous video! More please! So happy you’re cooking for them... much healthier. But I am worried about including grains in a dog’s diet as they generally don’t digest these well and they just sit and ferment in their tummies. I guess by including grains the food is less likely to be sloppy which is also very bad for dogs. Some raw veggies (even Brussel sprouts and raw carrots are really good for them too). Keep up the lovely posts about Bentley and Albert! I’m a huge fan with three little dogs at home! 🐶🐶🐶

Thank you Magnolia!! Rice is fine according to my vet. It is actually what they recommend when they are feeling ill to get their tummies back on track. I love this recipe. I must try. I currently feed my pooch food from Ollie which comes in turkey, chicken, beef and lamb. This has been the only dog food my dog likes he too is also very picky. Your channel is awesome .

You definitely love your puppies and so organized. Home prepared food for dogs is always better and you are doing great with supplementing them with vitamins and fish oil. The only thing is that our food supplies are contaminated. I would recommend only organic spinach since regular spinach contains so much pesticides (it's one of the top foods in pesticides on the EWG list of the "dirty dozen" in produce. And all rice contains heavy metal contaminant arsenic (it won't be mentioned in the ingredient list but I recommend to Google keywords rice and arsenic). It is best to soak, drain, boil, drain and boil again to get rid of at least 85% arsenic from rice. I would also recommend sometimes to switch them off spinach (which is high on Oxalates and to give chard or kale or bok choy instead). You can look up if those are safe for dogs, but they don't contain as much Oxalates. For humans Oxalates can cause kidney stones and joint deposits that hurt. Possibly affects dogs too. ❤
