Happy Friday! I am super excited to share a recipe I have been making for my dog lately! I plan to experiment more - so let me know if you would like me to share more homemade dog food recipes. XO Dani
Great recipe, so yes, more please. I have a fussy dog and she enjoyed it. I forgot the egg and black pepper, but added a bit of apple, parsley and sage. She didn't mess around eating it!
If that's how your dog food looks I can't only imagine what a people meal looks like, your family is lucky to have you. Awesome thank you for this because I love my dogs.
I make a meal for my pup and myself very similar to this except the egg and I use chicken thighs or breasts though ground would still be appetizing enough. I mix with his kibble since he's a Akita and growing about an inch a day at this stage. I love sweet potatoes so does he as well as carrots. It's great because I've got lots of extra canned food so he gets green beans, kidney beans, carrots, pumpkin and much more. I make up to 4 meals at a time for him. Things like ground flax seed, turmeric, use some black pepper to make it effective, ginger and I'm learning more and more important foods everytime I study.
our housekeeper has been cooking for our 3 dogs for years. None of them have ever eaten store bought kibbles. we cook chicken breasts, chicken liver, sweet potatoes, then juice carrots, spinach and kale. (much healthier than cooked, and adds moisture as it is juiced). add rice, mix the whole thing up. We make 30 lbs at a time once per week. thanks for the tip on the turmeric, i will give it a try.
Why don't you just give your dogs their species specific diet of fresh raw meat, fresh fat and fresh raw bones ? Ever wondered why dogs and cats in the wild don't get metabolic syndrome chronic ailments and cancer ?? Commercial pet food has the same things as processed human foods - Seed Oils, Sugars, Carbs, Processed Chemicals and Oxalates.
I really appreciated your RU-vid channel because I just adopted a 15 month old English pointer with Pyrenees and my wife passed away in August of 2023. And this dog is my soulmate and I want him healthy and happy. He’s so amazing. I thought I want to be able to feed my dog the food 5:21 that I would eat myself and not dog food that you buying a bag. It’s just him and I.
Love your dog food. I live in Thailand and we always cook dog food for our dogs. Normally, we give them rice, meat (like chicken or pork liver), and veggies. We also often give them our leftovers like eggs, vegetables, soup, milk.)
Thanks Dani! I'll definitely make it. I've been cooking homemade food and let me tell you, my other dog's bloodwork improved so much just with healthy food! My former Vet was shocked. Food is medicine for sure. Can't wait to see your dog treat video too! Charlie is adorable and kissable!
My dog wasn’t feeling good and had diarrhea. I made this recipe and she was feeling much better in just a few days. Thank you so much for teaching me how to cook for my dog. For years I made fun of people who did this but I am now a believer!
Once you learn what goes into commercial dog food, you can't forget. I learned many years ago that ALL supermarket dog food use horse meat. And If the ingredients don't mention which 'MEAT' they are using, you can assume you're fbuying horse by-products. they use parts that have no nutritional value, like ground up intestines, hooves, literally every part of the animal. The only reason they add vegetables and jelly, is so humans find it more appealing when feeding their dog. if the food looks disgusting, we stop buying it. But it's common knowledge euthanised racehorses get sold to abbotoirs, and then manufactured into dog food. it's NASTY stuff. If you can't be bothered cooking, it's better to buy the more expensive brands that use beef and chicken proteins.
Let’s be fr, this food and all the processed junk both our pets and us have been lied into eating for necessity, is ultra processed poison. Never again
I LOVE this! I don't have a dog, but I have always said to my friends who do have them, that it has to be so boring for dogs to eat the same things everyday. I think this could be a great series for the channel. 🐶 🐕 🥕
I love this and believe that an entire channel devoted to homemade dog food is a good option, it is so needed. I love your regular channel, I have recently gone KETO and any recipe ideas that you have for the keto diet are most appreciated. Love your healthy , vibrant and positive energy!
My dog is 2 now but I got him as a puppy and I used to hide when I eat bc I felt so bad w him watching. So one day I decided to also cook for him and we been enjoying meals together since. Really helped w the bonding too!
I was just making this recipe for my pregnant momma dog who wouldn't eat her kibble before whelping. Though I didn't realize it was an official dog recipe. I had no idea there were dog recipe videos before now! I just cooked what I had on hand that was safe for dogs. Instead of turkey I use ground venison (bc we have a freezer full!) And omit the spinach bc of oxalates. Some days I use quinoa instead of rice. You can top it with some canned pumpkin as well!
Yes more recipes please! I've started making our 13 year Beagle/Bassett food about 6 months ago. She loves it. I cook our brown rice in the instant pot and the rest on the stove.
I just wanted to thank you sooooo much for this recipe!!!! We just got a 15 week old German Shepard Black lab mix puppy, we didn't want to give him the dry store food all the time. I came across this video and decided to try it out with our pup, he absolutely loves it. I made 3 batches, we added 7 blueberries to each serving. Thanks again! ❤
Dani it’s great you’re encouraging people to cook for their dogs instead of buying kibble. However, that is way too much rice (carbs), could use more eggs or add raw eggs at feeding time. Salmon oil can also be added. Garlic is not toxic to dogs unless given in high quantities. Reason for dog food recall years ago. I would add organ meat and a few other things. Dr. Becker is an amazing resource. I do not cook my dog food. It’s ground up and frozen, thawed and fed. Never had an issue.
I've been cooking my lab's food for years. Some things I add nutritional yeast, chia seeds and occasionally ground flax seed all extremely healthy. He loves my cooking. Thanks for your helpful videos.
@@leslieh1051 There is no one set recipe. Look at calorie count of what you add then divide it by number of servings. I started cooking my dogs food because he was always licking his butt add a can of pumpkin and it keeps his anal glands from itching. Usually use 4 chicken breasts a pound of ground turkey 6/7 cups of frozen vegetables 5 tablespoons chia seeds or ground flaxseed for fiber a tablespoon of bone meal a glug of olive oil a couple tablespoons of nutritional yeast of course the canned pumpkin. I use an immersion to blend everything except the chicken and I finely shred that. Hope this helps.
@@leslieh1051 Our vet is thrilled that at 9 years old my lab maintains a weight around 80 lbs and acts like a puppy, very muscular. Calories make no sense to me if I can achieve nutritional levels desired with less than 2000 calories a day, great for this 60 yo woman. I wouldn't throw garbage in my body or dog's just to achieve a calorie number.
We home cook for our two dogs and love seeing others do the same. Every time I plate up their food I am proud at how BEAUTIFUL and HEALTHY it is. It's REALLY pretty!!! My hubby & I would be better off eating the same thing. People Chow! Thanks for sharing what you do for your dogs.
Yes I would love to see more of these videos. My dog was recently diagnosed with a condition that she can't eat grains. I have swapped her to a salmon based dog food but this could be a great addition to her diet. Can't wait to try the recipe. Please, please make a treat video. I have been searching for a easy one that is also healthy. Love your channel.
Out of curiosity can she eat potatoes/sweet potatoes? Also sardines are a good alternative to salmon since they're very similar nutritional, also contain tons of omega fatty acids, have less mercury, and are cheaper on average, same goes for anchovies, mackerel, and herring. Muscles and oysters can also be good since they have tons of minerals like zinc. Depending on where you live fresh may be cheaper then canned but both work and if you get sardines packed in oil you an chuck that into their food too.
My dog loves this recipe! I’ve made different versions of it using Turkey, Beef and Chicken. She has always been a picky eater but not with these ones. Great video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I lost my dog two years ago from cancer. I have thought for a long time now that dog food, like human food, is far too processed. I have just got a delightful puppy recently and I am going start making her home-cooked food. Thank you.
Was reading your comment, sorry to hear of your loss. But was wondering if the pug pic was of old or new. I just lost a pug( i called my lil brother) about 2yrs ago as well. But either way adorable pic.
@@charliesmomma7402 i'm sorry for your loss. it's hard, I know I lost my Silky two years ago, it helps to get another one, as they all need love, and equally give so much love: Again, I'm sorry for your loss.

Happy Saturday, I just finished making this recipe and both of my dogs DEMOLISHED. As soon as I heard their bowl clank, I’m like…👀ya done already …I know they loved it. Thanks.
I've made homemade dog food in the crockpot for my dog after his open stomach surgery (he refused to eat his dry food at the time and canned good was getting super expensive). One crock pot would last him a week...it just got to be too much for me! But I respect people who do homemade dog food consistently! I do make homemade treats for my dog though! Much love!
I have been making ground turkey, brown rice or pasta, carrots, blueberries etc for my 3 dogs. I never thought of tumeric or spinach. I have also from time to time added sweet potatoes. I appreciate your sharing your recipe.
Love this! I cook sometimes for my oldie but goody Mac the rat terrier. He loves carrots, spinach, quinoa or rice, peas and any kind of beans. He is a rescue and he has really bad teeth (never could afford a doggie dentist). He's more active and lost weight from my cooking. And I agree with comment below, dog food is processed and the good stuff is pricey. My 10 year old Pitt died of cancer & that's when I started cooking for Maki. Thank you for the tip w/ TURMERIC & EGG! I also give my cat wild caught tuna in water 2x a week.
I relate to all these answers. Both my cavaliers died around 8 years old.Far too young and both so deeply loved and missed. Then I looked at what they had eaten. All commercial dog food has the warning:Dog food only:Unfit for human consumption. Finally the penny dropped. Why did I feed them food that was unsafe for me?So when I get my new cavalier puppy I will cook all her food. She will only eat food that I can eat.We tend to believe what manufacturers tell us.But ,just as with our children, convenience comes at a price to their health.Dogs deserve healthy, tasty, real food,as unprocessed as possible. In the long run you will save on vet bills and have a happier dog.
I just finished making your recipe for my 14 year old schnauzer, he was watching me all the time, as if he knew it was for him , I gave him a half cup when cool, he loved it. Thanks for the inspiration.❤
@@CleanandDeliciousDani dog treats should Not have any type of starch in them or preservatives so all anybody needs to do to make dog and cat treats is Dehydrate strips or Chuck's of beef or lamb or goat or venison or rabbit etc etc heck even a little chicken better to use turkey never pork with a Little pink Himalayan salt on them. That's it. No special stupid veggie treats or cooked hard bisquits as those Will have starches in them to stick together which turns to SUGAR which is Not good for your pets

Hey Dani, I’ve been following you for years and 2 days ago I got my own little doggie for the first time! So when your recipe popped up from my search I was thrilled because I trust you implicitly! I had decided to cook homemade food for my new fur baby and this looks absolutely fantastic…I can’t thank you enough!!! ❤
This dog food does not contain enough of many nutrients dogs need. There is no iodine, manganese, calcium, copper, etc.. Dogs are carnivores by nature (does not mean they can’t get benefits of plants) and need mostly meat, bone and organs in their diet.
Iv been cooking for my dogs for years you have to make sure that you had a multi vitamin and plus b complex and bone meal and more don't forget because you don't want your dog to become Deficient in vitamins, but beside that I really enjoyed your video!good job on transitioning your dog!
After watching this video, I was contemplating making this recipe for my sweet Elvis. I kept procrastinating, but when his health was visibly declining, and he was not eating his regular food, I decided to try your recipe. Since I mill my own flour, I have an abundance of grains to choose from to cook for this recipe. So far, I’ve alternated between oat groats and spelt. The change in him was immediately miraculous! I will never feed him anything else again. Thanks for the great recipe.
I’m sorry about your dog. I hope Charlie is one of your dogs currently with you. We also lost one of our pups that way. We now have just two, but one is super picky about her food. Thanks for putting this up for us to see.
Hello from South Yorkshire, England 😊 I don't usually comment on things, but had to after trying this home cooked dog food recipe for my havanese dog called Yogi. Yogi has just turned 2 years old and is one of the fussiest eaters. I have tried a variety of expensive dog foods for him to like for a 3 or 4 days, then get bored. I found that I was throwing more away than what he was eating. Anyway I found this on utube and decided to have a go. Tried similar ingredients to find what Yogi will eat. I mix beef livers in with mince turkey which he loves, but found that he doesn't like sweet potato so I will leave this out when I make another batch. I find that when I cook a pan full, I partition it into about quarter of 1lb bags and freeze it, which lasts about 2 weeks. I find this so convenient, just take out 1 bag from freezer and warm it for about 1 and half minutes. Yogi seems to prefer it abit warm and seems to like the smell of it cooking. I'm finding that I'm not throwing as much away these days and it's definitely alot cheaper than the company I was buying from. I always cook the meals straight from the freezer and ensure that if there is abit left after my dog has finished eating that i throw it away, so that he always has fresh. I like this recipe has a base as it can be adjusted to suit your dogs tastes. Glad I found this video. I have shared it with a friend who's dog is also a picky eater. Thankyou 🐕🐶
Tuna Dish that my dog loves - Big can of tuna drained, five stalks of fresh celery thinly cut, a bunch of dill, a cup of beef stock soup, a cup of cooked mushrooms, 100 grams of washed spinach leaves, some added peas, corns and carrots. If I have a spare egg and slice of bread I wil semi cook the egg, soak the slice of bread and throw it in as well for some added texture. I use Olive oil only to cook the food and only a little, rely on the cup of beef stock to boil it more than fry it to maintain the nutrition as much as possible. She loves it and as an added plus it encourages us owners to eat healthier. They can have what they smell and it only takes a little additional effort to make an extra portion for the dog. We can then add to the human dishes what the dog is unable to digest such as chilli, turmeric, cumin, yoghurt, curry etc whilst keeping our canine family member included and loved.
Oh thank you 🙏. We share our home with a German Shepard. I have been thinking about cooking his food. Brings me comfort watching your video. I 👍 fit more dog food receipe. And if you make dog biscuits am in. Thank you for sharing 🥰
Thank you for doing this! I have been running out of ideas to make meals interesting for our senior Shih Tzu’s. Yes, please keep on contributing with more creative ideas. Mandy from Tucson🌵
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! My dog is 13yrs old and has some health issues (Thyroid)and has gained so much weight 😭 I had been looking for something more healthy for him!! Thanks!!! I can't wait to try this!
I have been using this diet for almost a year. I add a few more eggs and make a bigger batch three times the meat. I also use egg shells which I bake for a few minutes in the oven after washing them. I grind them up into a powder and add a table spoon to 3 lbs of meat. Also add sunflower oil at the end.
Another easy safe thing for my dogs that I've done is to make jerky for them out of arm roast and lean pork when it's on sale. I cut thin and either cold smoke them and/or dehydrate them to completion. If i do marinade at all for them i use a little apple cider vinegar, dog safe seasoning and pureed pumpkin, carrots, etc. It gives them lean protein, helps clean their teeth because it's hard and they love it. I've also made them 'soup' that I've canned made with several beef soup bones, beans, carrots and herbs. Basically bone broth with extras.
Once again, a fabulous recipe and video! Thank you for always making your viewers feel good whether they "go all in" on a lifestyle change or simply give it a try here and there. My dogs would INHALE this yummy recipe! :)
Thank you for all the hints prior to going full scale switch. We are doing some of the same and our two elderly "pups" are doing better. These two fluffers have actually been feeling better than they have in years .. Thank you for the advice and recipes. I am convinced that full scale cooking for them is better and healthier than any brand on the market ❤
This looks like something I could eat! I feel like cooking for your pooch is a great way to further build your bond with them. You will also know exactly what's going into your dog.
I can't wait to try this. I do add vegetables, pasta, potatoes, sweet potatoes, fish, chicken and minced meat to our dogs dried food and he loves it. Please can you do more homemade dog food recipes ❤️
Such a great video! I started adding cooked food to my dogs dry food. I love this recipe and will definitely try it. The added spices is something I didn’t know about and will now research being that my baby is 11 years old and is having issues with her hips. I have added beets to her food and I find that she walks better after that meal. 😉 Thanks again for this video. Definitely looking forward to more. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
My pup is 13yrs old. I have had her since she was 4 months old.. Recently she has gotten pretty picky with her food; she no longer wants to eat the same kibble she had been eating for years.I have tried several other brands of store bought food but she either doesn't like them or develops allergies. Financially, it's not going to be easy to start giving her human food but it's the least I can do in return for all the years of her love and companionship. I will definitely try your recipe.❤
I thought that dogs need some sort of bone meal or they lose bone strength. I’m sure the dogs love the way this tastes just not sure it’s good long term for a dog. They have different dietary requirements
I've been cooking for my dogs for over 10 years. They should only have spinach once or twice a week. Too much is not good for them. Also bonemeal is very important per my Vet. You should add it to each meal. Food grade bonemeal. Never thought to put turmeric in the food. Great idea! Enjoy your channel!
Hi Dani, Loads of thanks to you. Why? Because: 1. I am a hopeless cook with no cooking interest at all. 2. I love my 7 years old dog who till date has never eaten anything else other than Chicken, Eggs, & Rice or the readymade expensive food for dogs in the market. Also, he doesn't like to eat anything else. 3. I don't like going to the kitchen but my love for my dog & your recipe made me go there. 4. Now, I am mostly in the kitchen making this recipe. 5. My dog loved it from the day one & leaves the bowl spotless after the meals. Thanks again. God bless you.
Omg this is awesome! I have a cat though. Wish you had a clean and delicious cat recipe, but i truly think you are so great for making your dog's food and sharing with others. :)
You have to be careful with cats. Cats are obligate carnivores and if there's no taurine cats can go blind and get heart disease. You must do your research yourself and educate yourself.
Your kids are so cute, just adorable, so is Charlie. I cooked similar recipes for my senior dog and youre clever adding Tumeric (and a pinch of pepper to aid absorption) Turmeric has many health benefits and is proven to relieve inflammation from arthritis. Good job Mom!
I've been making a similar recipe for my 4 dogs for years and they love it! Sometimes I add peas or green beans too. I haven't tried coconut oil, I usually cook the meat in a little bit of water which softens and flavors the dry kibble that's added in. I also add in a few squirts of fish oil.. when I make bone broth, I cooktheir food in that instead. making dog food this way is so much healthier and tastier than canned dog food/freeze dried/refrigerated tubes plus its cheaper.
This is a great recipe, I make it for my dog all the time now and just use different meats in it as well as change up the vegetables too. Shredding the veggies, what a great idea! She loves it. I also add a high quality kibble in it to make it stretch a bit longer. Thanks for sharing this great recipe! 👍
i do the same thing here, ground turkey and veggies, the veggies i eat that week, what ever choice, he gets on top of his food, i use Pure Balance Salmon and pea as and under, take care Dani
Thank you so much for this. I started making my two chihuahuas food several months back due to one being very picky and it's great for them but I wanted some new recipes for them and here you are!! PLEASE keep doing these videos and doggie treat recipes would be awesome❤
I’m curious, did your chihuahuas like this recipe? I’m afraid my chihuahua is too picky. He eats meat only and I add a doggy vitamin to it. I’ve tried everything from kibble to the refrigerated doggy food and he turns his nose up. I want him to get healthier foods in his diet but I’m at a stand still. 😔
My beagle girl has a sensitive stomach so I switched to raw foods for a couple of months. It was soooo expensive but it worked. no more puking or gas. I started making my own gently cooked food and found it to work as well and to also be cost effective. I boil about 5lbs chicken breast and cut it up into small chunks. I use the water to cook 2lbs of long grain brown rice to witch I add a 1lb package of chicken livers, hearts and kidneys. in a big tub I mix the chicken and rice together and add in 2 bags ea of frozen green beans, carrots and peas. This yields about 7 quarts which I bag and freeze . At a half cup twice a day this last 28 days give or take. My 11 year old has a new lease on life with a healthy looking coat, clear eyes and lots of energy. She plays again and no more puking on the rug lol. All this for about 40 dollars a month much less than I was paying for some of the so called high end brands at the store which are all crap because they are pressure cooked junk meat products that are killing our pets. Oh yeah when I serve her food I add a small amount of hot water to the bowel. This helps bring her food to room temp and ads in digestion.
all i’m gonna say is… if your dog isn’t eating make this! my dog is 14 yrs old and has a big size tumor on his stomach which makes him not want to eat. he also is a super picky eater where he won’t even eat rice and chicken without some flavor. this made his day and he will forever be getting homemade meals! thank you!
Great video, but a little FYI for you, its not good for dogs and cats to have to lean down like that to eat and drink , plz get that precious pooch of yours a dog food riser, just make sure its up high enough to where their neck isnt bend but low enough so they can comfortable do that, great recipe!!! Thank you again and God bless you and yours 😊😊😊
Add an omega 3 oil and some one or pasture raised egg shell ( ground) I buy canned sardines in water from Costco and put a couple in one meal per day. I love turmeric and do the same. I also get organs like hearts and livers from the butcher to add to the food at the very end, like how you did with the egg as they shouldn't be overcooked.
My dogs love liver or kidney with broccoli and they LOVE peas! With brown/basmati rice. I don't use rice very often as I need it to benefit them when they get the 'summer shits'. Also they go crazy for sardines mixed with coconut oil which helps their coat and itches.
My senior dogs health was declining so I tried this and she loves it . I was so surprised because she is picky and I have tried farmers dog etc and she still won’t eat those! I made mine with ground beef. She threw it up a couple of times when I feed her too much- possibly due to all her meds too. So now I feed her just a spoonful or two of this with kibble.
Is the protein in this recipe high enough? 3 cups of rice to 1 pound of meat seems like a really low protein ratio. It's extremely important to know how much protein your dog needs to eat per it's weight and size. Also kale and spinach have similar properties that can cause bladder issues so you need to be careful about using spinach all the time. It's best to change the greens used. All things in moderation. I also only feed my pets fresh food. I would not want a dog to have issues due to the low protein
Hi Grace, you could swap brown rice (5g protein per cup) for quinoa with has 8 g. per cup, or you could change the ratio & make 2 lbs meat and 1 cup rice, or 3 lbs meat and no rice/grain. I'm sure you're aware, but this is for someone who might not be, it's not the greatest to substitute in beans. Although beans are high in protein and fiber, there's a possible link between dogs eating beans and potatoes and developing heart complications (Source: www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/animal-health-literacy/questions-answers-fda-center-veterinary-medicines-investigation-possible-connection-between-diet-and )
@@nekilof-2363 The recipe in the video is not my recipe. I have developed my own working with a holistic vet and applying my degree areas of study. I was only cautioning others to check the protein ratio for their dog before proceeding with this in place of other food they are currently feeding.
Dogs do not need carbs at all to thrive. Having said that some fresh veggies can be beneficial. However, it appears this woman is simply substituting home cooked carbs instead of kibble. While it is fresher and offers a higher moisture content, it isn't ideal.
Thanks for sharing, Susan! I also hear carrot is good... My husband will add shredded carrot to Charlie's kibble, which we use when we run out of homemade food... great for digestion.
Thank you for doing this easy and simple recipe. I made it for my dogs and they absolutely love them. I’ve recently started making homemade food for them and I appreciate your recipe. A good variety is nice. Thanks so much.
Please consult a board certified veterinary nutritionist to ensure that your dog is getting a balanced diet and is getting the proper macro and micro nutrients that he needs! While well intentioned, it is very easy to create nutritional deficiencies when feeding a homecooked diet.
Yes I agree. A nutritionist veterinarian is very important. I cook for my dog for 11 years and it's a prescription from a nutrition doctor with supplements that each breed needs to make the recipe balanced.
Don’t forget to add a doggy high-quality multivitamin on top of that. Extra nutrients they need just like us. Not telling you what to do just sharing the results with my wonderful pet. Peace
Hi Dani. Thank you so much. I have been cooking for my 3 dogs for 9 years now. Love to try something new and a little different. Your meal does look delicious!
This looks like a very healthy meal for my dog. Thanks I will make it! I do feel dogs should get dry food also, for their teeth, cause the dry food helps with the plaque on their teeth.
It doesn't actually, that is a myth it would be like saying people eating potato chips helps with cleaning their teeth. Kibble is the worst thing for your dog, home cooked or raw is best.
Got a pup recently and started baking dog treats, I make a big batch, as my granddaughter and I eat them too. All healthy ingredients. The look on friends face, when I give 1 to my pup, then eat one. Lol. Thank you for this recipe, going to start making this too
You inspired me, to make more for my dog who will be one on Nov. 10th. I DO make him homemade biscuits regularly, my own recipe I made up, with peanut butter. My other dog Carly Loved them.....I can’t seem to find biscuits that they like as much as my homemade ones. I look forward to making this nice easy recipe that you have here. Thank you so much.!!!!
Brown rice has more arsenic, than white rice. I would give rice rarely. We eat rice rarely for the same reason. There are ways to reduce arsenic like rinsing, soaking overnight, dumping water then cook in fresh batch of water.
I’ve been a dog food chef for years However I do mix it with the best quality kibble available , since that may have brown rice or yam then mix won’t have rice, if it’s the no grain dry food then I mix in rice or oatmeal Broth is another thing I frequently make out of chicken or beef bones
It’s so cool that you have made dog food! I’ve watched a few of ur people recipe vids and have been thinking about cooking for my dogs so this seems to be a natural progression!
Thank you so much for this wholesome recipe. I have a 1 year old Husky. He is very picky about food. Let me try this. I feed him home cooked chicken and rice with veggies and egg. Turkey isn't available here.
Yess it is! This video should be flagged. It is dangerous to feed dogs and ESP puppies this for any longer than a week. They need their calcium / phosphorus and soooo much more.
@@Magickfae Agreed, it would be dangerous feeding such unbalanced food to any dog for extended time, they are bound to have skeletal and other health issues. I feel some believe cooking for dogs is same as preparing meals for people, and yes, this video and many others providing detrimental info to owners should in good conscience be removed.
Thank you so much ! All the sites on natural dog foods for seniors include some kind of expensive supplements. I just want to give my pups something healthy with their kibble that is easy on their digestion. Thanks again.
I am sorry to say, but this is not a balanced diet. There is no source of calcium at all, and a balanced diet needs an appropriate ratio of calcium to Phosphorus. There are no organ meats, and there are no essential fatty acids. Dogs need the proper amount of EPA and DHA in their diet. The only way to get these, is from a marine source, such as salmon or other fish. Also, dogs do not need carbohydrates like rice or other grains.
Who is this girl?? Are U a pet nutrionist? You are missing major components to this recipe. Folks, becareful with rice, make sure it's brown rice if any at all. Use sweet potato instead of brown rice.
This is about the equivalent of what I eat each day and I decided a while back already to share my plate of food with my dog. I used to mix it up, but lately I just dish it and give it to her. Sometimes adding a handfull of dogpills. In the winter she get cornmeal with the food which fatten het up quite fast.
