Hey everyone, it’s Amy Roloff here with my wonderful husband Chris! 🥰 Chris wanted to show me his recipe for fish cakes that he often made when he was a bachelor. Of course, I was all in! Even though I’ve made fish cakes before, I was really excited to see how he made them.
Chris’s fish cakes are simple yet delicious. For me, I like a little more flavor and seasoning without taking away from the main ingredient (salmon, tuna, or crab). Plus, I love adding a dollop of sauce on top. So, we decided to compare our two versions.
In their own way, both fish cakes turned out absolutely delicious. We had so much fun cooking and tasting them together in 'our' little kitchen.

I agree with Chris I think olive oil tends to alter the flavor. I’ve never made like grilled tuna. Well I have made tuna boats before and that still is with my same a little bit of mayo, mustard relish. you guys should definitely cook a competition more often you guys are fabulous together and Amy we know who babe is we know you’re not calling the camera, babe Chris lol

I love Chris, nice to see him in a videos with you. I agree Chris I will never buy canned salmon again, one time way back when I was cashier at a grocery store a lot of people bought it so I decided to get it to try, and I got the one like you with the spine and I had to toss the whole can, there was no way I was going to sort through all that nightmare! I didn’t know it came boneless, I guess I just thought it would be like tuna/boneless. I’m new to your you tube page but I’ve seen every episode of little people big world.

Yes!! My husband will not eat canned salmon because of the bones. His mother used to make it when he was a kid. He refuses to eat it now. I need to find boneless and give it a try. Salmon is so healthy!!

I like both versions. I make salmon patties. I just never have made tuna. I will give tuna a try. I’m sure it will be delicious because that’s the kind of tuna I like is the solid white Albacore. I cannot eat tuna in oil. You guys are so funny in the kitchen..do more cooking shows.🥰👏🏽👏🏽

The spine is soft as all the other bones because it is pressure cooked. It's all safe to eat. Bones,skin,and fish, are all good. Thank you for sharing. 🎉

I’m with Chris on the egg mix it first and I’m with Amy on more ingredients and fried the way she did it coated in panko bread crumbs makes it crunchy, but good job Chris A for effort. I like the salmon bones. I crunch them in between my fingers. The bones actually have good things in them. It won't hurt. Salmon is good with some garlic powder, onion, or onion powder, and whatever else.
