I remember sitting on the backyard of my grandma’s house earring grapefruit while she does gardening and singing cute songs that are traditional to Mexico together, that’s why every time I see or eat grapefruit I remember her and give her a call or go for a visit. I miss all the plants of her house and one little space where me and my cousins used to plant grapefruit and lemon seeds to see if they would grow heh but my grandparents had to seal the backyard because it made the house full of insects and I remember sitting at the stairs leading to the now destroyed backyard crying and my gran-gran saying that nothing lasts forever but we can always enjoy the memories that you created there with the people you loved, hugged me and leaded me to the kitchen where she gave me grapefruit on my favorite bowl. It was sweet. I cried when I tasted it and there’s a pic of me crying while eating that grapefruit.
I really love grapefruit so I will try this. I will probably mix it with soda water. There is a great grapefruit cake with creamcheese frosting that is great. It was made famous by the Brown Derby that used to be in Hollywood, California.
Thank you for another way to enjoy my favorite fruit! I sometimes add marmalade or jelly to my tea for the fruity flavors in winter, but this is much fresher and nicer. Two suggestions: 1) make candy with the washed peels, instead of throwing them away-it’s delicious, and you’ve already done all the prep work, and 2) have you tried honey, instead of sugar? It might be more healthful, but probably much more expensive. I’m definitely trying this recipe! Also, you can find wide-mouthed canning funnels that make filling the jar easier and less wasteful.

Can anybody help me... It is left to stand for 3 days, my question is.... 3 days in the refrigerator or out of the refrigerator. In case of being outside the refrigerator, in very hot areas it can be in the refrigerator, since where I live is very hot and if you left it outside the refrigerator with the plastic and the lid, I am almost sure it would spoil.
Brings back memories, i used to love to eat a bite or two when my older relatives used to make this. I never liked the tea really but i was young, it did taste good i just liked the jar of syrup and the candied pieces more.
