My $30 Homemade Gunwash Machine is a simple design but very effective so check out this video and see how I made it and how well it works. the parts required for the build are as follow, a sink, portable trolley with wheels or bench, Body deadener gun, 10mm internal diameter fuel hose 2 meters length, a 20lt drum of gunwash thinners and an air regulator (optional), don't forget the eye and skin protection when using thinners and there is also a fire hazard so take extra caution of sparks, welding and open flame in the area. Sit back enjoy and Don't forget to hit that like button.

That's a nifty Lil unit, I am just thinking out loud, but you could go a bit mad and fit something similar to a shot/sand blasting unit on the too to keep it sealed, and have a two way valve for the thinners, have two drums of thinners, do initial wash with the waste drum thinners then switch over to clean drum for very last wash, all waste would go to used thinners drum all the time! Hmm I might try make one.. IL Jeep yez posted :o great job

Hi gunny, use the paint hose from a pressure pot setup,it is lined with a special material, thinner won't attack it.

that is a great basic idea. I suppose a system to filter the output solvent would help. I am wondering what kind of filter would do . at least paper filter in the cone, but a second recipe where particles can go to the bottom. or simply a second barrel then the solvent can be recycled later. I do not understand why the cap is not out and an air gun added to dry the inside once cleaned. (it is too bad to use contaminated solvent in the air circuit ?)

A+ job. Very nice video. Anyone know of a way to filter the the liquids after it drains down back into the solvent tank? I will be building something like this and am thinking exchanging filters might be cheaper than having to change the solvent often. Anyone know of good disposable glove that's solvent resistant? Sick of cleaning with acetone or similar solvents and having my gloves falling apart so quickly.

Hey Gman? I've panted some front bumper covers with deep fog light holes and a lot of "fins" in the lower bumper openings. I couldn't get the clear to lay smooth in these areas. I ever adjusted to a really narrow fan. They were acceptable but I wasn't happy with it. Any suggestions? Or videos on this issue?

Hi Gunman, thanks for the videos. Question: When cleaning your gun I notice you don't take the gun apart. I've always taken the cap and needle out to clean the gun.. Am I wasting my time?
@TheGunmanChannel
@TheGunmanChannel 9 лет назад
pales851 For an everyday clean I don't bother but once a month I like to pull them right down, check out this one mate I explain it all ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_fh72tOUenU.html
@emmettcoen
@emmettcoen 7 лет назад
pales851 I'd even say once every few months, depends on how much you use them and how lacmzy you are to cleaning them in first place, obviously you are not as you take it apart, I'd say every month if you using gun full time 7 days a week, if only a few times a week it's not a necessary, my own opinion :o
@TheGunmanChannel
@TheGunmanChannel 7 лет назад
Emmett Coen Totally agree mate, the most important thing is back pressuring the chamber, I run thinners through them 2-3 times and then hold my finger over the nozzle forcing it back up the gun, this method clears the passages. I had a brand new gun, used it for a month every day then pulled it apart and it was spotless on the inside, it didn't even need to be pulled apart. Some people over do it and risk wear on the threads. I saw an apprentice ruin a gun by overdoing the cleaning, even the supplier couldn't fix it with new parts.
@emmettcoen
@emmettcoen 7 лет назад
Hey man.. Bike to hear from you again.. A very simple way for back pressure cleaning and believe me it works is unscrew the air cap until it just about falls off then wind it back a thread or so and pull trigger, no need use the fingie, I use this method for mixing lacquers and any 2 pack for quick/cheap jobs, as in throw it straight into pot! Let me know if I confusing the Shit out of you lol.. I'm on some snap chat, I do a non serious version/mild auto repair / bit of craic type thing like you do.. Let me know.. If anything you will get a laugh! But in fairness.. Mine is.. Am... Well words can't describe it Hahaha

While it makes it easier and quicker to clean, by using air to pull and atomise the solvent you create a lot of fumes which I do not think is particularly healthy nor safe... Pneumatic diaphragm pump (second hand not expensive) would be better + atlasta flow through brush - just a suggestion...

can't a 25u or less bronze air filter, or a cyclone, be used to clean the solvent before spraying ? one would need a pressurized barrel may be but not so much pressure needed. Bronze filters can be washed.
