I love cannellini beans and wanted a recipe cuz I didn't like the added preservatives in the hummus in the store,thank you so much for posting this video, can't wait to try it,and the relish also,sure miss Joan,she looks absolutely gorgeous.

Martha has a great many friends but she seems to love Joan a lot. Joan is incredible always, a lose cannon, we miss you Joan, I'm sure where ever Joan is she has them laughing. A lot of people don't know is that Joan is very loved by many celebrities. And they say she's funny and extremely kind and charitable lady. A rich lady too, check out her digs, looks like Buckingham palace

Tried this dip alone. It's very good. Great way to get a very smooth texture.. will definitely do it again .. experimenting with different types of beans. 2 tsps salt is too much ! (Im using Himalayan pink salt).. try 1 tsp

1. Use chickpeas, not white beans 2. Before processing the beans, put the tahini (more than Martha uses) and the lemon juice in and process them alone until they are whipped with air. Then add the chickpeas.

Yes, there's no need for that kind of assumption if you just give it a little thought, Bane. I'm older (as was Joan here) and I know she wore glasses at the time this was taped...Martha is literally asking her if she 'can read IT!' The question was valid, and automatic.

It is made with chick peas, chick peas in Arabic is Hummus, so saying the beans is Hummus dish does'nt make sense.

MARTHA!!!! YOU ARE MAKING BEAN DIP! "Hummus is an Arabic word (حمّص ḥummuṣ) meaning "chickpeas," which have been the main ingredient for thousands of years. Gluggy bean dip does not have the same light, springy, aerated texture of the chick pea! Get better researchers! Marharban is the Arabic word for bean, Hummus is the Arabic word for chick-pea.

I think you mean, TRADITIONALLY, hummus is made with chickpeas. There are variations nowadays, if you would just open your mind a little. I've made it with cannellini beans, which are actually more nutritious than chickpeas. I've also had black bean hummus, and that was pretty good too.

slh950 Well, you can call it bean dip if you need to do that. Martha and I (and others) will continue to call it HUMMUS even if that means some people might get ridiculously pissy about it.
