I was ready to buy a Kitchenaid and one reason is the sausage maker attachment but I think that a dedicated device is most of the times better. I'm very intrigued in this one.
You made the right choice, is a very good machine, is more noisy that I was expecting, but does the job very well and is very cheap in comparison to the other brand.
Why did you use the cutting blade to fill the meat in the casing, the meat has already been minced. I am an Italian chef and I have been making sausages and salami all my life.
Hi there, the cutting blade is important to use when making sausages, to allow the sausage mix to flow into the casing. You will see we use the sausage filling plate (with three large holes) when making our sausage, this allows for the sausage mix to flow in to the casing with very little to no mincing action. Therefore, the mix does not get ground a second time. Thanks.
