Homemade Lift for Raising Plywood onto a Roof by Yourself

Special thanks to RU-vid member, Chase Koop, for this great idea. I was able to lift 10 sheets of 5/8" plywood onto the roof of a garage that I'm building, and this lift system worked like a charm. For those who were asking, the pivot points are two heavy-duty T-hinges.

Dear Lady, you saved my project. I built a frame for the motorhome carport, however could not get plywood on 12 foot roof by myself. After wathing your video for I built a rig for an hour and toward the evening already half of the roof is covered. Thank you a Blessings to you!

I used a similar method to lift plywood , then cut the support legs to the angle of roof pitch and used it for the steel sheeting as well .

Good to see a woman doing real work like this. When I was 17 I thought I knew it all and when I met a lady like this on the job site I didn’t take her seriously. Then she solved a lot of problems that I couldn’t, then she carried 6 sheets of dry wall up a ladder when I couldn’t. Long story short she’s now my big sister and we call her Bruiser

After tripping on a bag of cement in the back of my truck and having a sheet fall on me because I was trying to fight to get it up on the steep roof alone I decided to check out what other people have tried and this is nice and fairly simple and I'll be doing this next instead of trying to act like I'm a beast and giving my neighbors something to laugh about as I fight to get 5/8 osb 12 feet up in the air on a roof. Thanks for the tip. I'll have one similar made tomorrow in less than an hour or so and put the rest up. Jokes on my neighbors because they not getting anymore laughs here. 😂
