Today we're making homemade maple pear upside down muffins! They are so light and fluffy and extra delicious with that maple syrup. Besides, pear and maple are a match made in heaven!

1 egg
1/4 cup (60ml) maple syrup, plus extra to serve
1 1/4 cups (185g) self raising flour
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup (55g) caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup (60ml) full cream milk
1/4 cup (60ml) vegetable oil
