Freeze for 3 hours, take it out and mix again for 3 minutes. Put it back to the freezer for another 2 hours. Take it out and mix again for another 3 minutes. Put it back to the freezer again for 2 hours. Matcha ice cream is ready to be served :) Just helping because i need the written recipe as well 😂
I never got to try anything matcha because whenever I want to try something new, my parents say “no you won’t like it” then they complaint that I never try anything new
Made this yesterday, gotta say it was pretty easy and delish in the end. BUT. I did not freeze and mix 3 times as suggested. I only mixed it once after freezing for 2 hours. And I used a little less sweetened condensed milk, 200g-ish. Thanks!
Just made this today! It was so so delicious! Really rich and creamy! I would recommend everyone try because it is not too difficult (although it is hard resisting eating the matcha while it's in the freezer).
Bravo! Gorgeous, doable, no-egg, no- churn matcha ice cream that looks like frozen silk. Don't listen to these fools about the plate presentation. Perfection. You just made my day; I will make this after my current batch of matcha ice cream is eaten. Thanks much!
omg thank you for this. ever since quarantine, my favorite ice cream shop that i used to go to every week has closed, and i wanted to know how to make it at home
i just wanna tell you that i followed your recipe and it turned out GREAT! just small problems though, not sure why but the texture is really hard out of the freezer and melted easily too.
Maybe should have been mentioned how cold is in the freezer. I'm doing it now. I have - 18°C...I put it in a metal bowl, bc I don't have that big glass bowl. I was curious so checked after only 30min the top was already frozen so i mixed it with a whisk (it's nearly midnight, didn't wanted to disturb the neighbours)
YES! finally I see someone who does the same thing I do when using a mixer!! After so long though I just started letting it get almost to the point of freezing completely then I break it up with a spoon and mix it vigorously with a wide wooden spoon. (As long as there are no lumps, in the end it's the same result without using an electric appliance 👍) then I just refreeze the whole thing
Made this and it work! Creamy n matcha like. Taste like bought from supermarket. I didn't take it out from the freezer to mix it. I just freeze it overnight.
You've made ice cream which my daughter likes a lot. Your recipe ice cream recipe is very easy and I will make your ice cream recipe look refusing for my daughter.
Was searching for a hassle-free recipe to make Matcha Ice-Cream and found your vlog channel. WOW...this has got to be the easiest way to make ice-cream. Massive thanks for sharing! 🍦🍨🍵
Well, i've made this last Saturday. Because i just only had around 10g of matcha powder, so i divided half of your recipe, result went not very ok because the whippin, i made 200ml of whippin cream, it tasted creamy more than matcha flavor, so i think next time i will be doing with 20g of matcha powder and 150ml whippin cream :D. However, the texture was good. I will update when i done then 2nd try ;) Thanks for you recipe :D
It could be the matcha grades are different so the flavours or amounts needed end up varying. Matcha has various grades, if you wonder what I mean, for example, costco matcha is nowhere near matcha at tea shop.
I have tried the recipe with reduced condensed milk (200g). Still a bit sweet for my preference. I will try reduce to 160g next time. But overall it is a great receipe. Thank you ☺️ One question: why is the surrounding melted but the middle one still icy as I leave it at room temperature for a while. That’s normal right?
I made these but substituted the whipping cream for coconut cream. The ice cream turned icy but I guess that was on me. I’ll try this recipe again with whipped cream next time.
Omg, i just watched it and randomly went to the grocery store to buy the ingridients! It tastes so good! Very sweet and not bitter at all. By the way, 20 grams of matcha= 10 tsp
I had made icecream with whipped cream and condensated milk, it tasts realy good, kids love it. Only you must mix it at least every half hour because it will freeze and be hard. Also have tried at korean restaurant matcha icecream and i will try to make this because i miss the taste.
Everyone”s asking why beat the cream mixture twice? I believe the reason is trying to mimic an ice cream maker. When freezing a liquid to a solid large ice crystals will form. So to ensure you get a creamy and smooth final product you would beat ( hence break) the ice crystals up. An ice cream maker does that with continuous churning.. So with no maker you have to help break the crystals with one extra beating. I made a batch using the prescribed method and will make next batch using my ice cream maker and compare the difference.
Hello I am doing this now, I also added a bit of fresh pineapple juice (maybe a 80-100ml? didn't measured.) so I used 500ml whipped cream. My freezer has - 18°C in a metal bowl, after 30 min (I was curious..) the top was frozen so I whipped up again to break the ice. I will check after another 60min Edit: actually 90 mins then mixed, another 60min then mixed, at 3 a.m. and I left it in the freezer for hoirs, turned out great!
@christianevangelio7673 4 years late but it's to break up the ice that's frozen on top to make sure your ice cream turns out creamy and not hard and icy like a popsicle, remember, it's ice "CREAM"
The reason why I’m watching this is funny. I used to buy lots of matcha powder and hide them in the kitchen today I found them all and now i have A LOT of matcha powder and I don’t what to do with them this is why I’m watching this video 🤦🏻♀️😂🤷🏻♀️
@@aia1190 my dad also did that although I'm the one introduced him with matcha but he like it so much that he tried to hide it from me😂 i feel betrayed..
hi, thank you for the recipe! I want to try this soon but i don't want my ice cream to be very sweet, can i put less condensed milk? Or will it ruin the recipe? thank you!
Hi thefoodpedia, can i not use milk but just blend the matcha powder and the condensed milk instead? Will it make the texture better? And what if i only stir it 1 time after 3 hours freezing? Thanks a lot
You can stir once before it gets harden. Without milk the ice cream may be too sweet, the milk also helps to blends the matcha powder well. You can try and let me know how it turn out :) Have a nice day.
Hi, is it possible to substitute condensed milk with honey? And will the recipe go well if we change matcha with cocoa powder or hojicha as well? Thanks!
Had matcha powder to use so decided to make ice cream. I doubled the matcha powder and it is definitely more matcha than Haagen Daz”’s version but I would triple it next time as it is still not to the matcha level I tasted in Asia. Thanks for the recipe. I will also try making the next batch in my ice cream maker. I made a bit of mess beating the cream. 🤪
maybe you can skip the hours in freezer by putting a bowl full of ice cubes and on the top of that the bowl of icecream mixture, then mix it until the texture is just right/set and let it be in the freezer.
