Greetings! In preparation for my weekly The Holiday's are Coming craft upload. I needed some microwave popcorn packets. I went ahead and bought some even though we don't really eat them that often. But I got to thinking and wondering if you could make popcorn in the microwave without having to buy those icky, oily, fake packets. So here, Rick and I experiment with great success and make popcorn in the microwave with nothing more than a paper lunch sack and a 1/4 of organic popcorn kernels!
You can make these up ahead of time and have them ready for your kids for after school snacks or you can simply toss them together whenever the craving for fresh popped corn hits you!
I hope you try this and I hope you love it!

Hi Noreen, I just made this 10 minutes ago (it's gone now lol) I bought the popcorn,a botlle of a theater style drizzle on butter(that they use at the theaters)&I bought a popcorn season shaker in the flavor "kettle corn","nacho cheese"&"butter flavor".They had about 4 other flavors,but I wanted to see what happened before I buy them all.Today I sprinkled on the Kettle flavor sprinkles&theater liquid butter.Noreen...It was WONDERFUL!! I can't wait to try all the flavors they have.Thanks again!!

I do the same thing! Only I prepare my bag just before popping because I lightly spray my popcorn with olive oil cooking spray & then lightly salt it. My co-worker told me about this a year ago & I've loved the idea ever since! I'm going to have to try it without the olive oil spray. :) There’s a guy at the farmers market that sales his homegrown popcorn that I’ve found to be the best & I buy this gallon size jug for like $6.00 every year. (My family LOVES popcorn). Thanks for sharing!

Hi Noreen =) Thank you SO much for getting back to me ;)The information really helped me alot! = )I'm really gonna look for it on Amazon.I never new all that stuff about salt (such as the table salt)(Good to know!) ;) I had told you my husband eats micro popcorn like its going out of style lol so I thought this would be right up his alley(&save us lots of money)We ate out the other night&I told him about it&he 2 said"why didn't I think of that) lol.Noreen I love your videos&your so helpful =)Tx!

Try sprinkling your popcorn with garlic salt! It's yummy! (Don't use garlic powder, make sure it is the garlic salt!) Thank you for this great idea!

Great idea. Our local Amish store sells Hull-less popcorn. No hulls and no "old maids" (the ones that don't pop. going to try this soon.

It's awesome to see another person do popcorn like this. I've uploaded a video on my channel showing how to do this too. The thing is, once you do your popcorn yourself, and you try the prepared store stuff, you notice a HUGE difference. Especially the taste and the resedue that lingers on your tongue. I like my popcorn plain, but sometimes I spritz some nonstick Pam and add sea salt before microwaving. Also 99% of the kernels pop, very few old maids. btw, I love your cat :)

This is a great idea!!! I just bought a box of popcorn packets from the store they deffinatly leave like a plasticy film in your mouth! Gross! I am so excited to try this out!

Noreen, you are a hoot! Thanks for the video on the popcorn. I hsve tried the paperbag method but I used the store brand or a generic brand. I didn't enjoy it because there were so many hulls. I think I'll try it again but will try organic popcorn this time. Thanks for the ideaA

I am def going to try this! Me and my daughter have always used a hot air popper and while back we tried some microwave popcorn and neither one of use could eat it cause it was too greasy! This would be handy to make several of these up at a time for quick snacks. Can you add seasonings to the popcorn before you pop it?

Try tossing the popcorn with some melted almond bark and top with colored sugar sprinkles. It's delish and makes a great gift! Make sure to remove all the unpopped kernals before adding the melted bark.

Himalayan Pink Salt is pure land salt that has no impurities and lots of minerals that your body needs. In fact it is the best salt you can use. I buy mine from amazon 3 two pound bags for around 30 dollars. I won't use sea salt anymore because of Fukushima and the gulf oil spill. The radiation and the corexit in the water are deadly. Regular iodized land salt like the kind in the blue box is actually detrimental to your health. Look up pink salt for yourself. Dr. Mercola recommends it!

oh my i never would have thought to do that. thanks!!!! my husband eats so much micro popcorn so i will for sure be showing him this. i will buy those flavored sprinkles that go on top of popcorn to shake over it after it's popped. Can I ask you what is 'Pink Salt" I have no clue and I wanna get some. Also where do I buy pink salt? Thanks so very much! Glad to see the Holiday Videos again. Try your local farmer's market or do an online search. I buy mine from a local Amish store and it is certified organic.

Yes! I am planning to show my famous rocky road brownies! They are divine! I will be doing those in a couple weeks. I want to show the chocolate sheet cake first and then a white sheet cake.

The best thing to do is to do a bit of research with regard to the dehydrating. Dehydrate 2 store has a brilliant webpage and youtube channel. She is awesome and I have learned a tremendous amount from her with regard to how to process different types of veggies. They all need different treatment. I also love to buy frozen veggies when they are on sale and pile them on the dehydrator! The frozen ones have already been prepped for you and that makes things easy!

Loved this idea! Went right out and bought popcorn and bags and tried it. Didnt work as well as yours but my microwave is older and maybe is lower watt. Have a questiong about something else, dehydrated vegetables, and thought you might give me your opinion. Which has the best flavor and texture. if you fully cook the vegetables or just blanch them before you put them on the dehydrator? Not to fond of a chewy textured vegetable in my soup :)

I would worry that it would burn. Probably best to put that on afterward with some melted butter.

That is SO cool! How do you think of these things? I will never buy microwave popcorn again! It's so expensive, too! I've always thought the popcorn on the stove tasted so much better, but was a bit of a pain to make...can't wait to try this one...will be running to Kroger in the morning to get all the stuff. BTW, I love olive oil and salt on mine. Would I just put it right in there? Also, I'm assuming that the popcorn doesn't HAVE to be organic for this to work, right?

If you want to, you can even cut out the paper bag. Just pop right in the bowl. Handful of kernels in a microwave safe glass bowl. Put a plate on top to keep the popcorns contained in the bowl. Nuke. And you're done. Oh and another little tip. If you want salted popcorn, salt before you pop and add a small glug of water to the kernels. It'll steam off, but it'll help distribute the salt and make it stick to the popped corn without the addition of butter.

Hi Noreen, Do you have any great new brownies ( like the brownies with cream cheese) you made about 2 years ago (that's how I met you) do you have any new brownies coming up that you are going to film for the Holiday Season. Noreen, I have a question. can you prep the kernels before you put it into the microwave? Put some salt and a pat of butter and shake it around and then nuke it. Or this a cooking faux pas? Please let me know :)

Im gonna try that when I get home. Oh and the comment about the cat, yeah, my cat loves to sit on the counter while I cut Meat and must stare at me. No cat hair ever gets in the food and once Im dont I give her a treat. I love my cats and let them show affections too. If you dont want to treat an animal like part of your family, people shoudn't have them...Huggs,

There was a guy I read about who ate popcorn everyday for years as a snack. He ended up with a rare disease called popcorn lung. It's caused by breathing in the flavoring fumes of commercial microwave popcorn. It's called diacetyl. Workers have actually sued flavoring manufactors over diminished lung capacity. Scary but true...

N, After I popped my popcorn my bag was still clean.I was wondering will it still pop again if I want to re-use the same bag?Can U re-use the same bag? Also my sticker would probably work again.Have U re-used your same bag&the same stickers? Gosh I did this all so cheap.I got my stickers at my $1.00 store! Amazing way to save money, & it really does taste Amazing&better than store microwave popcorn.Can I re-use the bags?And Stickers?Oh also the flavors I got have No MSG& R gluten free!! yeah!=)
