I made a more advanced firewood stove for camping this winter. By adding an additional room at the bottom, it can serve as an air chamber for primary air supply and an ash tray.
Secondary combustion was implemented by adding an air mixer to the rear of the main combustion chamber. So during the test, I could see a fire storm going across the firebox from the rear to the front.
Fire and heat travel to the upper part of the front of the stove and pass through the upper firebox to escape through the flue.
This stove provides a wider combustion space, and can maximize the amount of heat generated by implementing primary and secondary combustion.
Heat-resistant glass is installed on the side of the stove to illuminate the surroundings and dissipate a greater amount of heat.
However, as thin materials are used as fireboxes, special attention is required, and the walls need to be reinforced with thicker materials.
I would like to inform you that this stove is a concept stove for testing to develop a better stove.
Thank you for watching.
Always be safe and have a fun camping.
Stay safe.
※ Disclaimer: Using a stove in a confined space can be very dangerous. When using a stove, be sure to ventilate properly and be prepared for fire or other safety accidents. I am not responsible for any loss or injury caused by carelessness.

so who uses a camping kit for 7 months - consistently? xD like does anyone? was that your plan? - like for a camping kit - how many camping trips before this, melts away due to thin metal? xD like a 7 month long one?.. lol.. you just wanted to complain, didnt you? :) well done.. if i kept rereading you comments for 7 months straight, its going to give me a seisure.. see? doesnt mean i can invent that problem and make it real xD that just makes me a douche

Hephaestus would smile upon thee. Icarus and many a man however, might curse thee for constructing such a thing of beauty only to melt wings and burn fingers with the slightest of touch... but at least they'd be warm and enjoy cooked food. QUESTION: Have you considered manufacturing such a stove with an interior combustion chamber nested within an outer shell - the the air gap between, filled with sand for insulation purposes? Nested ammunition (ammo) boxes might be used for this purpose. Just a thought... That said, your construction is terrific! Thanks for sharing.

My only objection is the use of stainless steel, although just hobbyist, i work with metal quite a bit, and stainless has a very low heat tolerance compared to other metals that would be just as easy to work with. You could mybe reduce the risk by double layering the stainless with a good packing of 0000# steel wool in the cavities between layers. Thats actually how i made my first forge!
@wyleehokie
@wyleehokie 3 года назад
What metals would you recommend? I dig the design and would love to build one Note - I was thinking he could take a secondary rectangular piece of steel (a bit smaller than the top) and have a welding shop weld it on some small "legs" to the inside of the top so there is a 1.5" (37mm) gap between that piece and the top
@dreamwolf7302
@dreamwolf7302 3 года назад
@@wyleehokie i would personally recommend either a thicker stainless, or a high carbon steel. Its less the stainless steel itself, and more an issue with the thickness. Stainless steel is great for pots and pans, that will rarely reach over 500F, but most wood stoves will put out much more than that. If you have a welding unit at home, and can really use it well, i would personally suggest layers of different metals. Some nice 'cold iron' (also known as cast iron, wrought iron etc) would be best for the inner most layer, it does well under high heat, because it radiates heat the through its entirety (which is why it makes such a great cooking surface) put a layer of steel wool between that and a layer of some copper, i would say, depending on the size of the stove, around 1/8 of an inch thick would be good, and it will not only be a grand heating surface, but it will look pleasant as well. Alternately, a layer of ceramic 'gravel' or some cheap wood stove gasket rope (which you can get old lengths for pretty cheap or even free if you know where to look) in place of the steel wool, as it would last longer, but it would also reduce the amount of heat reaching the outer layer. However, with careful placement, you could control the point where the heat rises through, making only one part of the surface layer hot enough for cooking, and leaving the rest reasonably safe to touch for short periods.
