Making mooncakes is actually quite simple and easy except that it’s time consuming. But nothing is better than homemade mooncakes, without the added preservatives and it’s a lot cheaper. Aunty Mary show’s how to make this mung bean mooncakes at home. You can make other types of fillings the same way.
Ingredients
Mooncake Skin
100g vegetable oil
2 tsp lye water (alkaline water)350 golden syrup
500g flour
Ming Bean Filling
500g mung beans (use pressure cooker to cook til soft, blend)400g sugar
250g vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla essence
3 Tbsp wheat starch (get from Asian shop)100g flour
