Leslie, I remember as a kid when my mom would make homemade ice cream (using an old fashioned hand crank freezer) she used a recipe that took the egg, evaporated milk and sugar and start it on the stove and cook it about 5 minutes let it cool and place in the freezer with the rest of the milk.
Priscilla, That's the way my Grandma made homemade ice cream as well. It was delicious! Aren't the wonderful memories we have from our childhood awesome?
The peach ice cream sounds amazing. Then you mentioned banana and I was like mmmm and then he mentioned cherry and my mouth started watering. Then an idea popped in my head. Make a banana split ice cream. Cut up bananas, strawberries, and cherries and put in there. Then when it's frozen take some chocolate syrup and drizzle some in it and lightly swirl it around so it's not completely mixed in. Now i'm wanting ice cream. lol
Homemade Peach Ice Cream is the BEST!! This is like my mother in law used to made. She always said the sugar "cooked" the eggs. We made peach, strawberry and vanilla, always with eggs and no one got sick. Leslie, I agree, sometimes the old fashioned way is the best.
🍑Leslie YOU'RE a PEACH!!! lol, what a great demo. I'll admit the last time I saw anyone making homemade ice-cream I was a toddler. 5 decades ago...and they churned it themselves. Now I know how the electric one works, salt, etc. I have no idea how you put so many vids out for us to see with the amount of energy required to be you!!! All I can say is I for one am grateful and you deserve that vacation coming up! And let me tell ya, I can almost taste that peach ice-cream right now!!!! Love from Los Angeles.
Oh my ... that looks so good !! You both seem to enjoy it !! I always wondered why people do t make homemade ice cream more often .. it’s so good !! Bless you all ! ❤️🙏
When I was growing up we would always go to The Kingsmen gospel singing homecoming. They held it in the football field of our little town. Big Jim was the lead singer and he loved homemade peach ice cream! He ended up in the hospital not to far from us one time and my mom made him some peach ice cream and we took it to him. The smile on that sweet man's face could have lit up the world that day! Thank you for bringing back a sweet memory!
Been watching your transition over the passed year and Wow, You were always a Beautiful woman but Now Stunning! God Bless you Leslie I just wanted to encourage you to keep it up!!!!
Leslie! You're killing me...Lol! The best ice cream in the world is homemade just like you made it. Such fond memories of my mom pulling out the ice cream maker and that first taste of sweet vanilla...yum! We sat ours on our back patio and as a kid I was so excited to hear that motor start churning! Seeing the ice and salt mixture wrapped around the machine in our big galvanized square wash bin always brings a smile to my face and remembering pestering mom, "Is it done yet?!" Lol! Now I'm gonna have to get a machine and make some...what a treat!
Hi Leslie 👋, I could use a bowl right now. This heat is making feel lifeless. I tell you I’m not a summer person. Lol 😬. Take care and God Bless you all ! 👍😎👍♥️🙏🙏
Sweet Leslie, that brought back so many dear memories! We always made homemade ice cream with raw eggs. We will make it again soon and make sweet memories with our grandchildren! Thank you!
Oh my goodness, I am so glad I came across this. My dad use to make this when I was a little girl back in the 70's. I miss it so much, I will definitely be making this soon. Thanks for the recipe. God bless you guys thanks for the memories lol
I make ice cream this way twice a year. Once for my family reunion and then for the 4th of July. One time for the 4 th of July we had a guest who was very up set that I did not cook the eggs so I poured the mix in a big pan and cooked the mixture stirring most of the time until it came to a low boil . I boiled it for about 2-3 minutes . Then set it in the freezer until cool enough to put in the ice cream mixer. It tasted no different than it had in previous making. Just thought you might like to know. I love watching your show and Bryant is a great addition. Of course I love watching your whole family . The grand babies are growing so fast. Awesome video, Leslie! Thank you for sharing sharing this! Oh my goodness, it looks so delicious! My grandfather used to make us homemade ice cream whenever it snowed. He had an old fashioned ice cream maker. When I was little, I thought he used the snow as an ingredient in the ice cream lol but he used the snow instead of ice in the machine. It was so delicious! It was such a nice treat. Homemade ice cream is the best! I love you Leslie and family, God bless you all 🤗❤️🙏🏻
Leslie, you making the peach ice cream took me right back to my childhood. You made it just like my Mama with the exception of the sweetened condensed milk. Mama didn't use it but everything else was spot on. There is just nothing like homemade ice cream. You mentioned that you loved banana and Mama made that too. She also made pineapple and that was my favorite. Thanks for giving me a trip back to when I was a little girl.
Hi Leslie love that color top on u. I hope u kept all ur goodies that u tried on. I love ice cream never had peach sounds so yummy. Pray yuns have a peaceful evening. God bless u & ur sweet family .❤️
I love peach ice cream! I use to get the peach shakes from Hardee's when I lived in Florida. We don't have anything like that here in NB, Canada. Not that I've found anyway. God bless ya'll and have a great week!!
Now, I'm hungry for some delicious homemade ice cream! Thank you for sharing. You and Bryant are in my prayers during the sale of the chickens. I know it's exhausting for both of you. Hoping both nights go off without any hitches. May God bless... 🙌
That ice cream looks yummy I remember cranking grandpa's ice cream maker so good eating in the shade on the farm miss those days when all the family gathered together...
Looks so good. My sister Sherry made delicious homemade ice creams. I never got to try her peach and she has passed now but she always said if you want your peach flavor to pop just add a dash of apricot flavoring. I never got to try it so I don't know how well it works. Love your channel. God Bless
I think I found my new favorite color on you. That shirt color just makes your skin glow. How in the world do you cook in such pretty shirts and not get things on them? I think every time I cook I get something on me. I spend more time pretreating my clothes than I should. Peach ice cream reminds me of when I was a young girl going to my granddaddy’s house on Sundays after church. He would always get the crank style ice cream maker out and we would all take turns cranking it. Thanks for bringing that fond memory to light tonight.
I grew up making our own ice cream like that on holidays. We would grate a thick gigantic chocolate bar. And we would put that in the ice cream halfway through freezing process.
I haven't made ice cream in almost 20 years! I'm getting that ice cream maker out of the closet and make some strawberry ice cream with our own strawberries! Can hardly wait!
I used to sit on top of the ice cream maker when my dad cranked the really old fashioned ice cream maker. My brother and I took turns. It was always so good.
Leslie I remember the old days . The old crank ice cream maker . Ice and rock salt . Packed around the cylinder . I and my brother . Taking turns sitting on top . Of the ice cream maker . With a couple towels folded over . And your booty still would be freezing . Homemade ice cream is the best . My Mother always tempered the eggs milk and sugar . This helps with not giving .You a headache. When you eat ice cream too fast . Thanks for sharing your peach ice cream . Looks so delicious . Hope you get through . With The chickens soon . The Lord Bless You All .
I absolutely loved working, until when summer came around. If I could have gotten from home to work without having to go outside it would've been wonderful!!!!! Always enjoy the program and recipes. ❤
Oh my that looked so good. My mom used to make homemade ice cream alot. Seems like I remember her cookin g the liquid🤔 . Another thing she liked to do was make hot fudge sauce for it. Sure wish I had paid more attention. Mrs Steve
My ice cream is that I use Eagle Brand milk & evaporated milk 3 then sugar vanilla, fruit which I blend in the blender then put in microwave with sugar & warm up I use the electric machine too. You have to add a little water to the mixture. It’s so good & freezes good for leftovers!
This looks so good and refreshing on these hot summer days we all seem to be having. Do the freezer containers come in square? Just wondering because square actually saves space. Thanks
Brings back lots of memories, both with my parents and with my in-laws. I was so happy to see you take a taste....you make so many great looking dishes and you never taste them.....LOL......like someone said, "It's only a bite of food, not heroin!!!"
That took me back to my grandma made fresh peach ice cream just like that. I am always ready for ice cream, but it’s been years since I made it. I think I would like to try and make it mocha flavor and add some nuts.
I love homemade ice cream. There is nothing better than cream made from scratch. Leslie where did u find that big bottle of McCormick imitation flavoring? I've looked everywhere and cant find any. I don't like extract either.
That shade is always a beautiful 😍 color on you. It is truly one that just brightens the whole time you are with us! I look forward to trying this as 🍑 🍑 peach anything is my favorite!!! I am wondering if you can use sweetener instead of the sugar 🤔 and the same for the milks as in low fat??? I bet it smells 😋 wonderful.
That peach ice cream looks delicious. I remember when I was little and we went to my aunt's house she would get the crank ice cream maker out and we would make ice cream. My brother and I would crank it and we couldn't wait for the ice cream. What great memories. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day. 🍑🍑🍑🍦🍦🍦🍦
Leslie… I was wonder how much milk you put in with the base. I have a small Cuisinart ice cream maker so I wanted to make the whole recipe and just make a few batches at a time. It looks delicious! I think I am going to try and make Oreo ice cream. Sunday dinner will be peach. Grew up with home made ice cream. Such fond memories
I have never been a fan of fruit in ice cream...except strawberry. Something about the ice cold chunks and my teeth don't go together! But, I LOVE butter pecan!
Oh, Leslie, that looked 😋. Peach ice cream is one of my favorites. True story; my former employer had an ice cream social for us & I tried the peach ice cream. I found out it was from a local business & the ice cream was made onsite. So, I contacted them but, they were out of peach 🍑. Bummer! They offered to make me some the next batch of fresh peaches they could get. Now, that's great! But, I didn't want to be forced to purchase 10 gallons of ice cream. They said, oh no, we will make it, call you when it's ready & sell it in quarts. Wonderful! I'm finally at the end of my story; they called me at 9pm a few nights later & we all jumped into the car to go my hand-made special request peach ice cream. I didn't just get one quart either, LOL. 🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑
There's no reason you couldn't cook the evaporated milk, sugar and eggs over low heat stirring constantly (or in double boiler) and then chill the custard before adding to the churn. It would also help melt all the sugar crystals.
It amazes me how he can eat cold stuff like that without getting a brain freeze, I have never seen anyone eat homemade Ice cream like that without a brain freeze, I'm sorry, but that is just funny to me. Love you both. '
