Awesome homemade paper hot air balloon flying with GoPro onboard. rc plane flying fpv around the balloon white aerial video. songs 1. rob dougan - clubbed to death 2. the glitch mob - we can make the world stop
Dude make it rc ballon , with a fpv go pro. U can put 2 tanks of gas and a high torque servo to pres on a valve to release the gas..u got the point. Good luck.
actually it wouldn't be too expensive. it really depends on the paper price, I think our paper cost around 20 € plus the glue. we bought the paper from a hobby store..., so you can probobly get it alot cheaper or even free. ( our ballon could lift around 1 kg, and the roll of paper was one meter wide) :)
thanx for your feedback. that's actually a good idea it would be funny to fly a fpv hot air balloon. the only problem is i don't think the balloon is big enough
Thanx :) we used glue, i think it was some kind off wood glue, but you can also use wallpaper paste. we used wood glue because it was in an tub, it was just easyer to use. yeah we have made many plastic bag balloons, and with them there is always the possibility of them melting... but if you are careful enough they fly fine.and if you make them out off plastic bags you can make them fairly fast and inexpensive, so you won't be as frustrated if they melt and burn :D
Very nice work! I only have one question: what did you use to combine the elongated body parts together? Glue? what kind? Thank you! I'm still making one out of huge plastic bags, but they're very gentle to heat and the bigger you make the balloons - the less effective they become (concentrated heat melting the plastic bag).
So impressive. Well done. I wonder what you are doing now? As two 60 year old in Wales U.K. we went for a balloon ride with Bailey Balloons. It was fab. I hope you get a chance to go for a balloon ride sometime.
The glue sticks i have used have never been that good... but just try to glue two small pieces of paper together and test how good they stick together. And stick glue tend to dry really fast so you don't have much time to get the two pieces of paper together.
Hello, I am about to finish my tissue paper balloon in a couple of weeks. I wanted to know which type of string or thin rope I should use to attached the envelope to the basket. There are loads of natural and artificial fabric with their pros and cons, braided or twisted. Have you got any recommendations? Thanks :) It’s a 3-4 cubic meters bag. 10 gores
Nice video!!! Can you maybe whrite the formulas again, and maybe explain them? :-) I try to build one here in Denmark (in a little smaller scale:--) out of your movie, but i got some problems with the formulas. I hope you can help.
Hi guys, I have a few questions about your balloon. I'm going to be making a similar balloon for my physics class, and I was wondering if you could help me with a few questions that I have. One of the main questions I'm wondering is how you went about attaching each of the gores. I'm also wondering the approximate altitude that your balloon reached. Thank you very much!
I know that was a while ago but u think it would be enough to lift a 10lb. candle? I have fire proof to a point parachute material. I will only light on fire & burn to dust at 20,000" when the meter sets the phosphorus charges off, but should be beautiful. Just working on how big or what I'm using to lift that much. Reached that height w/no weight with lanterns, helium... Never that set up but I like it
Heyo from Brussels Belgium, Eh, I made one tissue paper balloon ages ago when I was doing a project for science at high school. It was only 1 meter high envelope. Now that brown natural paper. I didn’t know that type. Is it souple? Right now at the moment I am making a kite with tissue paper and intend next week to wax it with a mix of beeswax and paraffin. I suppose it wouldn’t be a good idea for a small hot air balloon. Would it? Merry X-Mass and thanks for sharing! God bless.
Awesome balloon, great project and a lot of work! We also built one but we used aluminum foil so we could make it much hotter and it didn't have to be that big to lift the camera. Check out our video if you like its pretty similar :)
how were you able to monetize this video even though you used that music? mine always gets auto rejected when i have music. oh i think i know, did you know the people that own that music is getting money from your video, not you
I don't understand, everyone else that makes these things, use a constant heat source to make a phone fly,you simply heated up the inside with a blow torch and you got the same result..please explain the science.
Hey! Yeah so because the balloon we made was quite big, and we only had a gopro in the "basket" the over all weight was quite low. And we used a powerful blow torch, witch meant that we could het up the air in the baloon to a much highr point than needed for the baloon to fly. So becouse of that it took around 30 seconds before the air in the balloon cooled down enoug for the balloon not to be more bouent than the air around it. (you can try this at home by lighting three small candles and placing them next to each other on the floor, than placing a garbage bag ower the candles. You need to find a garbage bag witch is super thin and light) We actuly tried to put a small blow torch in the "basket" but the one we had was not powerfull enough. And we realy didn't want to loose the ballon. Thank you for the comment.
also i grew up watching this because at the time i really enjoyed the concept of flying with balloons ahhhh child hood its always the best thing to remember
