To ensure oat milk doesn't get slimy, simply put the contents of 1-2 digestive enzyme capsules in with your ingredients when making oat mylk...important that it contains at least amaylase...I use Enzymedica Basic Enzymes...works every time.

Wow! I just added this to my hot English breakfast tea, and no curdling!! Thank you so much! I added about 10 ml of vanilla extract (about 2 teaspoons) to the recipe, but the taste was also very good without any additions. Might use about a third less water next time for a slightly thicker creamer. This is going into my Favorite Recipes file. :)

I made this in my Almond Cow today. I had to add a little more water to reach the min line, so added a little more oats too. It did not curdle! Thank you!

Try the same trick - adding some soaked sunflower seeds when making your almond milk 🙂

A great tip for those who like milk in their coffee. What was the kind you were drinking? Ordinary coffee gives me palpitations so I would be interested in a nice tasting alternative

Lovely, sis and I can see you started drinking my type of coffee?😀 What other types of seeds can you use? I don't have any sunflower seeds..
@HealthOrigins
@HealthOrigins 2 года назад
You're welcome. That was at night, so can't drink caffeinated coffee, plus real coffee doesn't agree with me 🙂 It only works with that particular combination - oats and sunflower seeds, as they have natural lecitin in them that stops the curdling process.

@@HealthOrigins it worked wonderfully.. I used a 1/3 cup sunflower seeds (love the taste) soaked and a cup of oats in the soyabella, 4 x Mill and perfection!! So creamy and no separation, thanks so much for this, will save a fortune on Oat milk and know exactly what we are drinking..

Hi Ben, just tried making it in my Soyabella as you said and all I got was a watery milk in the jug and a runny paste in the filter part. I did roast my sunflower seeds before soaking and I used just 1/4 cup, plus my oats were quite fine, perhaps that's the issue? Did you use the soya filter or rice milk filter? I used soya milk filter which is finer, perhaps it would work in a rice milk filter, I will try again with that next time. I still salvaged the milk though - just mixed the paste with the watery milk and strained it through my nut milk bag 🙂
@benaitken9859
@benaitken9859 2 года назад
@@HealthOrigins I used the soy milk filter, soaked the non roasted sunflower seeds for about 3 hours, and used organic oats (whole rolled) perhaps because they are slightly larger than the porridge type oats?? 4x Milled and a proper thick creamer... maybe it was beginners luck? At least the good old nut bag saved the day! Absolutely loving all your videos, great inspiration 👏

Hi thankyou so much for this video ! I have been so frustrated with milk making and having the coffee curdle ! Do you recommend soaking groats before hand for 4 hrs as this is what I'll be using not rolled oats . Does the sunflower trick also work with other nuts for example almond and cashew ? Thankyou so much for this video 100% game changer for my little family ❤
@HealthOrigins
@HealthOrigins Год назад
You're very welcome, I hope your little family enjoy the milk! 🙂 I haven't tried using the groats yet, I wonder if the milk would turn goopy after soaking them, perhaps it's better to blend them for a minute or a minute and a half instead of 30 seconds. Experiment and see what works for you. Yes, adding sunflower seeds to other nut milks should work too, as sunflower seeds have this natural substance lecitin that helps to emulsify the milk and prevent curd separation 🙂

Hi I tried your recipe, and my oat milk for some reason has more sunflower seed's taste and watery/bland. And I wonder if it's normal when the milk separates?
@HealthOrigins
@HealthOrigins 3 месяца назад
Yes, it will separate after a while, just shake it up before using. Did you soak your sunflower seeds before blending and is your blender powerful to blend it really well? It should not be watery.
