I love this! It's attractive, safe, inexpensive, and "doable" by someone without special equipment or an engineering degree. During this pandemic, many beaches are closed; the ones that aren't have long lines to get in. Stores are sold out of Easy Set pools and the prices are unbelievably jacked up, with long delivery waits, on line. Look at how happy that little girl looks! And it'd be pretty darned relaxing for an adult with a floatie and a cool drink, too.
Probably because he doesn’t want to have to be out there with his daughter and he probably thinks it would be safer for it to be shallow so she has less of a chance of drowning
Lmao why are there so many comments bitching about the depth? It's the depth he chose, not you! If you want it deeper dig YOURS deeper. Lmao not like y'all whiners going to be invited to his house to swim. I think the pool is nice and decent sized for lounging, splashing, and kids. Not everyone wants giant NASA tier pools. 😂
Awwwww you're darlingly sensible and funny too! Some ppl just like to ask questions because they're curious while others wanna bitch about something! I was curious about the depth, too however it's one heckuva sweet pool. Cheers Garnet! 🍁
Great job on the pool! I have that same pump and if you locate it below the water level, you will not have to prime it, you can just use the nut on the top to get all the air out.
I want a backyard! 😅😆 I live in the city, the alleyway is my backyard and the sidewalk is my front yard. Not complaining, just saying...HOWEVER once me + mine find one -- we have a great DIY project on stand by....I look forward to it.
pool looks great ive been a Aquarium and Pond guy for years with the Chinese having so many factories building clones of popular items when pattens expire or run out the game has really changed on inexpensive submersible pod and fish tank pumps you may be capable of building a pretty inexpensive priming pump or combined filter / pump DIY ? i reccomend checking in to it its easy to go on Ebay and just type in a generic item like power heads and lots of no name units pop up i buy them for backups and they work fine i built my first pond in 1989 amd i can’t believe how much more affordable these Chines made units are btw i’m a retired Woodworker myself and some of the standard Woodworkers tools are being cloned a few brands are actually preferred over the way older and often abused originals one of which happens to be a Band Saw the American company and brand that used to be considered one of the best builders stopped manufacturing their in the USA nearly 45 years ago so many of the ones still around from that era require complete rebuilds that are time consuming and xpensive compared to a brand new one with a warranty shipped to your doorstep for less money
You prime the pump/filter first. You do this by lifting the hoses out of the water and pour water in them. You have to have the air vent on top of the filter open. Once water starts coming out of the top of the filter, close the air vent. Fill the hoses all the way up. At this point, push the red button on the plug and get the hoses in the water as quickly as possible. If you can do this without getting too much air in the filter it works. If your filter is air tight, you can turn it off and on without priming. I fine as they get older, they let air in and need primed more often.
Not everyone wants to fully submerge or swim. Some folks just wanna splash around and sit in a cool, refreshing pool. Lol. It looks decently sized for kids anyway since that girl was able to submerge and mermaid around. 💖
We've had an intex inflatable and this is much more appealing to me. We love to sit in a floatie and sip a cocktail. Use for cooling down. I love this! Plus the shallow much warmer in cooler climates.
The liner was around $90 and the filter was around $50. The rocks around are from my creek. The work was the hardest part. Here is a link to pictures of the work: facebook.com/jeff.sweigard/media_set?set=a.867517543309903.1073741827.100001549973329&type=3
My advice is make sure the edges are built up so rain water doesn't drain into the pool and make it dirty. The pump/filter is Intex and you can buy it online at places like Amazon, Walmart or Ebay. Also, I would recommend a thicker liner. The thin ones crack after a couple of years.
