A siopao is a steamed bun from the Philippines that is loaded with a
variety of flavorful ingredients, like beef, chicken, pork or seafood.
Chinese baozi is the inspiration for siopao, which is typically made with
a fluffy, slightly sweet dough around a savory filling. Pork asado, which has
sweet and salty sauce, and bola-bola, which is a mixture of minced meat, boiled egg
and occasionally Chinese sausage, are two common fillings. In the Philippines, siopao is a
popular street meal and snack that is typically eaten hot and with dipping sauce like ketchup.
