Homemade Thousand Island dressing 

I loved your ketchup recipe & haven't bought bottled ketchup since. Also, the 3rd restaurant I worked in the head chef refused to even consider using jarred mayo. We had to make fresh batches of mayonnaise every day. Honestly though, it's super easy to make & so delicious that I always make my own too - takes 3 minutes in the food processor or with an immersion blender. If you do up a batch of fresh mayo, add a bit of paprika (to taste), 1 whole avocado & finely chopped basil to it & it's heaven!

Did you ever make this with the dill relish? Did you like it better? I tend to like a more tangy than sweet 1000 Island dressing, so I think I will try this with dill relish if I can find some and avocado oil mayo. I think I'm having an allergic reaction to the 1000 I get at the store. I have a feeling they've changed the ingredients list. BTW, you left the relish off the list of written ingredients.

is the maple in the dressing a Canadian thing? In the restaurant biz we always used sweet relish, mayo, ketchup and a smidge of vinegar no sweetener but it sounds like it's worth trying. My first restaurant job back in the day was with Bob's Big Boy and very old franchise and we made all of our own dressings, while Bobs is gone the dressing is still in the store being sold, best French dressing Ever!
