My mother made this recipe decades ago. It was simply amazing on a chocolate cake! She used her electric mixer though. The mixer whipped it up into beautiful stiff peaks. She found this recipe in her Grange Cookbook. Back then it was called Seafoam Icing. It always whipped up to a satiny sheen and was gorgeous spread on any type of cake. She always swirled the icing around on the cake and it set perfectly the way she shaped it. Excellent icing!

@@kimga-yoel5329 Honestly, l'm not sure if that would work or not. If butter were used instead of sugar, the icing would no longer be sweet. Mother never deviated from the orginal recipe, as it whipped up perfect every time.

Sugar 1/2 glass Water 1/2 glass (add gradually) Keep mixing slowly Add two teaspoons lemon juice Mix until it has a good consistency Keep mixing 2 egg whites Now gradually add your mixture Keep whisking reallllly well

@Tanusri G yes it really worked. But I have done it without using vanilla essence. I applyed it on the cake. After sometime the thick texture of whipped cream went off. The main thing is that you have to work hard... While blending
