Please be more careful here. If that wood cracks, the drill bit is going straight into your hand. That goes for both the hole saw and step bits. Don't hold something that small in just your hand.
The step bit is a must have tool. The hole saw is not as necessary for the crafting of this ring, you could use 3/4 - 1 inch tree branch or stick instead.
