You should NEVER start a chainsaw like that as a demonstration. It can cause an accident and YOU can be held liable. Case law told to me by an equipment dealer...dealer showed a homeowner how to start his NEW chainsaw by placing it on the ground and putting his foot in the handle. The new chainsaw owner walked past the service center on his way to his car, and saw a repair man drop start a chainsaw. The homeowner got severely hurt and sued the dealer. Homeowner won the suit. The judge said that even though the homeowner was shown the proper way to start the saw...seeing a repair technician drop start the saw, gave the impression that drop starting the saw was also an option. You didn't actually drop start that saw. But, you did demonstrate another less safe way to start it.

I keep a small socket set along with various sizes of spark plug sockets in my trailer just in case I need them. I also keep my spare chains and chainsaw tools in there as well. Even though I don’t use most of my tools every day, I have them in the trailer for the “just in case days” never know when you need to cut a tree branch that fell or special requests from customers. It’s better than running all the way home or making a special trip.

once you know how to saw trees down,you must wear each gear. watching from nova Scotia canada.

I would strongly recommend getting a pair of safety chaps for running chainsaws

Always save the limbs and trunk for last. Helps to keep the brush and leaves from flying out while you’re transporting. 👍

Good video but you had the wrong saw for that job. The 500I is a felling saw, not a ground saw. A MS 241 or 261 are the ideal saw for a clean up.

Suggestion. Maybe cut the longer branches a litter shorter next time. Try not to take over your equipment. It’s hard for me to hear you and maybe others too.

I always keep a few sockets, pliers, hammer for emergencies especially when I’m using the chainsaw I expect the blade to come off!!

Looks like a Bradford Pear but can't tell for sure. Nice trees for about the first 15 yrs but then they start breaking like that.

I love how you talked the customer. I was typing this before you mentioned talk to the customer. The older customers like to chat a bit and giving them a little time makes it bigger than a customer relationship.

I always start cutting at the tree top and work my way down, cutting in the middle causes too much trouble.

You need a 194t. So nice for cutting limbs. Way lighter too.

Please leave tree work to tree service so much bad chainsaw handling.

In future I get piece of sting with hook that measures out your bed length inside that way your cuts aren't wasted and tree fits

Shop-Vac the leaves. You'd be done in 1/4 the time.

I always like putting the thicker end of the branch or tree towards the cab because I’ve had the branches catch air and fly out

Watch your chain tension to man, I noticed that chain sagging a good bit away from the bar, good way for that to come flying off and hit you or someone else. They do have a chain catcher but still that’s a dangerous game to play. I enjoy watching your channel, don’t wanna see you get hurt not a hater just saying

Shawn ,Please Do not let anyone stand in front of the saw like that! If that chain breaks it could potentially come off the end of the bar and send them straight to the hospital. Not a good end to the day

Great video, way to handle that tree limb like a beast. I do have a question, maybe a 2 part question? I know you have your pricing down pat, for lawn maintenance and even leaf 🍁 clean up. Did you charge the customer, ( you don’t have to tell me how lol) if yes how do you charge for cutting up tree limb or limbs? We’ve been having a lot of trees and tree limbs down in our area. I even had a tree fall in my front yard, thank God for my neighbors helping me out, he had much better chainsaw. A couple of days later, a tree limb fell in one of my customers yard all do to the weather. She ask me how much, wasn’t sure on how much to charge, wasn’t sure if I was going to charge due to the weather. Even though I’m in lawn maintenance to make money. Your advice or input would really help in on going situations. Thanks

when you load your branches put the cut side up front towards the headache rack then the branches dont get caught by the wind and blow out of the truck when traveling down the road.

I get these type of jobs all the time, I feel like it’s a tough you to price. Would love to know what you guys think should be charged for this job.

This is what you call a win-win situation. The homeowner pays you to cut up and haul off the tree. Later your firewood customers pay you to haul it away to their house.

Did you tie any if that debris down or was the weight enough to hold it all in from flying up and out when you were driving?

Please take a chain saw training class. No helmet, no gloves, no chaps, improper starting, camera person is standing in danger zones. The money is not worth it if/when you end up in the hospital.

Wear chaps there a 100 dollars 33 percent of all chain saw accidents result in fatality 😡. Safety first Shawn we don't want you to get hurt 🙏

That tree should have been taking down. It's going to have a slow death and even more area for rot to start and grow.

Great job on the wood clean up! I personally don't think the tree will make it so the homeowner will have to get the tree cut down eventually.

One other thing do you guys not have a tarp to cover it? Dot police will pull you right over in my area for that not going to lie I was cringing pretty hard when you guys are both using shovels and scraping them on the ground good way to ruin that shovel instead of one person with a rake or broom
