Developers get off scot free while the victims are left with just bills and no water . All the red tape with none of the regulation , either the officials involved are criminally incompetent, criminally negligent, or just plain criminally involved .
@@barbaraeslick558 huh? your comment makes zero sense. this is not at all the same as Flint. in this case, all you have to do is literally stop paying the water bill. since you are not using it anyways, it is not going to hurt you any if they come and shut off your supply lines.
All 140 people collectively stop paying the water bill. That will wake up several people. $ is always the best motivator. Next step file lawsuits against everyone you can. (Class action) then, stop paying mortgage. After all, …. the homes are almost worthless. Live there for a year for free and file chapter 7 BK.
@@thepotatoofheaven Delivered in from Denver in a 9000-gallon tanker truck. McDonald Farms Enterprises is the closest "certified potable water hauler", it's a good 65-75 miles away.
This was brought up 20 years ago and several times since, but the voters in that part of Colorado just didn’t seem to care about any regulation so this is what they got. Now all of a sudden they want some regulation.
They did try to do something about it in 1979, and it partially worked. But, now, try to get hold of 13th District case file 79CV97. It has been destroyed, buried by the officials so that everyone would forget about it, and not learn how to fight them next time.
@@waltbroedner4754 Democracy does function, though it is not flawless due to its human composition. A segment of the population has been deceived into voting against their own interests. This is not a shortcoming of democracy, but rather a failure of individuals who have been duped by others seeking power and wealth.
The Navajo Nation has uranium contaminated ground water due to all the abandoned uranium mines, and nobody bats eye's for them. All the wells are unusable.
Because if they don't, the system can't pay the electric company that supplies power to the treatment plant, and they will cut off the power. Then 48 toilets won't flush any more. BTW, I run the billing system and infrastructure for this community, free of charge, so that water bills won't go up even more. AMA.
all places that you have a utility service in place, you are unable to stop that service. SO its either pay the bill you get or don't pay it and let it go to collections that put massive fines and damages your credit and in some cases the home would then be red stickered (put a no occupancy on it)
Oil companies and mining companies are literally exempt from clean water act In fact after exhausting a fracked well the oil companies use the abandoned wells to dump industrial waste with no accountability
Find an attorney who will setup at trust for ALL the residents to pay the current bills, hold that money until a system is installed or till you reach enough to just buy a system. Just fight it out in court and take whatever you can from them, put liens on EVERYTHING.
If you don't have water running to your house, your house can be condemned. This can lead to you being forced out of your house, and if you have kids CPS can take them. Also, toilets smell real fast without water.
There were far too many people that the developers, the county & other government agencies failed here. The agencies didn't tell them, because the people would have RAN away from the area. The state should have to refund everything these people have spent & at the minimum, prosecute the developers, real estate agents, banks & all government employees that were involved.
The people need to file an eminent domain on the water district and take it from them and fix it themselves, and then no more water bills except for the up keep.
You can't stop paying taxes if you are unhappy with the services your government provides, *so there is no incentive for the government to provide you with good service.*
They make reverse osmosis systems with membranes that can filter out radioactive particles. This could be fixed but the county doesn't want to make it right.
Unless you're a licensed hazardous waste operator, you can not buy radioactive waste . That kinda ends the water bills. Contact the EPA at the Federal level , and let the people selling hazardous waste to the general public explain themselves in Federal Court.
JFC at the price people are paying for homes there should be no problem getting water. If you charge me $300,000+ for a house I better be able to have clean water.
Folks check with Moses West about using machine that making water from air moisture. It clear, safe and pure!!! He was water purification expert that setup US Army sites for deployment. Google his equipment about purchase and use!!! Good luck!
It's a shame our federal government can't step in and use taxpayer dollars to fix this. But they have no problem sending billions to other countries. Nice to see we have our priorities straight.
sounds like someone was getting some kickbacks to over look this for so long ... the only real choice for these ppl i can see is to move out and do not look back or go full on self reliance as government will not help and they have told the ppl .. we do not care so ... move or do what you can on your own as you are abandoned
But Lord help anybody in crowley county if somone taps into water that falls from the sky, or drill a well, the state would send that individual to the gallows because denver scammed everyone out of their water rights in the 80s and 90s.
Conservatives say they dont want "burdensome regulations", and they got their way. This is what happens when conservatives do the bidding of corporate interests (developers) and get rid of regulations. Regulations save lives and protect the little guy.
