Winter King Salmon fishing out of Homer Alaska in Kachemak Bay with Captain Paul Randall and our good friend Ransom Arthur. The Weather consisted of 20* F ambient Temperature and 12-15kt winds from the east blowing straight down the length of the bay and would not allow us to get to our favorite hot spots so we had to settle with trying out a few new locations, Although Kachemak Bay is not real large the weather can turn quickly, always better to be safe, especially in smaller boats, we chose to not push our luck and found some cuts on the south side of the bay out of the weather to try. The first spot we tried got us hooked into 2 that shook the hook out pretty quick, but the second spot produced a few that hit hard enough to set the hooks good! I always try to get Ransom out fishing a couple times a year but had not got him out this past summer, so when Paul asked if i knew anyone that might want to go risk some freezing weather in hopes for a tasty prize I knew just who to call first! Thanks for the great day on the water Paul and the good company! Looking forward to the next trip!
