In March of 2019 we took a fishing trip with Maverick Charters, based in Homer, Alaska. Our group did well and almost everyone caught a king. Everyone...except for myself. Oh well. We had a great time! #winterkingsalmon #fishingalaska

White kings and albino kings are from the Frasier River in B C. and spend the winter around Kachemak Bay AK and surrounding seas feeding on herring. Possibly the fattiest and oilest salmon on the planet.
It is much easier to net a fish, if the rod holder aligns the rod above the net handler. With the rod bending over the net handlers head, the fish will more likely be right in front of him.
