Honestly, he has a remarkable ability to stay in ok shape. He eats enormous and downright inhumane amounts of food, and yet manages to effortless sit at 235 lbs. Despite not being healthy, when you compare what he is compared to how he eats, it really is quite impressive.
I actually came up with a song based on homer eating 64 slices of American cheese It goes 64 slices of American cheese 64 slices of American cheese You put it in your mouth and swallow it down 63 slices of American cheese Then so on until you get to zero
I can’t live the button down life like you! I want it all! The terrifying lows! The dizzying highs! The creamy middles! Sure, I may offend a few of the blue noses with my cocky stride and musky odors. Oh, I’ll never be the *darling* of the so-called ‘city fathers’. Who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about “what’s to be done with this Homer Simpson?”
And he's right, cause in America one of the hugest industries the country is built on is junk food...if you own and provide the sugar you're going to get the money and the women and the power and the houses etc etc forever
"You see, marriage is a lot like an orange. First you have the skin, then the sweet, sweet innards! *Proceeds to completely violate the poor fruit* "Are you done, to understand?" "If I wanted to see a man eat an orange, I would have taken ye orange eating class!" Go to top comment! ;)
11:24 what I like about Homer and Marge, is that Homer is being stupid, but Marge doesn't talk to him like he is stupid , she talks to him like he just legitimately didn't know
His efficiency in eating is astonishing, how he effortlessly knows the exact position of any dip or specific food and doesn't even need to look at them in order to shovel them into his gullet is just amazing
Though for his football chip eating, he should have had a drink on standby. Sometimes you get that one extra salty/seasoned chip you're not ready for and you get overwhelmed.
One thing I always loved about the heyday of the Simpson's was there would be jokes that were funny at face value then you find out years later there was a second underlying meaning. That scene when Homer's in hell being force-fed donuts is a good example. There's a somewhat famous book called Homer Price where one of the main themes is an unstoppable donut machine. That show was true genius for about 5 or so years in the early 90s.
I just realized that when it first came up to Homer, it barked at a normal tone, but when he bit a chunk out of it, the tone of the bark got higher. Idk if that's a neutering joke or not, but that's what I got out of it.
The 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's, you mean. The whole series is a floating timeline. Remember the flashback episode where Marge said, "The music at the time was what we liked, and the President at the time was the President."
Homer had a whole Shawarma cone or gyro cone. It's a block of meat roasted on a spit. It's commonly composed of beef and lamb. Pretty good too. I digress, the worst part for me was when he was NAKED with it.
Honestly when Homer started eating the comic I felt horrified. Not only because it's expensive but I have a lot of nostalgia for that particular cover.
It's honestly impressive how accurate the issue of Spiderman N. 1 is, including the interior pages. I mean its not perfect, but they could have got away with just splotches of colour.
I remember in the episode "Bart's Friend Falls In Love" that Kent Brockman said the same thing about how Santa Claus would have a lot of health issues if he was real.
Hutz: Mrs. Simpson, what did you do after you left the restaurant? Marge: We.... went straight home. Hutz: Mrs. Simpson, you're under oath. Marge: We drove around for 3 hours looking for another fish restaurant. 😔 Hutz: And then? Marge: We went fishing. 😭
I don't remember the name of the episode, but the other plot was Bart developed a crush on Laura his babysitter only for her to fall for Jimbo instead!
The key is to go for quality rather than quantity (All different kinds of food rather than big portions) And don’t never aspire to be like Homer irl The man did need a triple bypass at one point And not everyone’s lucky enough to survive Dr. Nick
As an American, I am offended by this. Homer is not even close to an accurate representation of the average American. Not even close enough mayonnaise on those pizzas. (Also yes, that’s a real thing Californians do, I don’t like it personally)
