What a great question! How do you plan? A week at a time or a month or semester? The longer term plans get the big picture goal while the weekly plan gets the detailed schedule. Everything in between gets more or less planning depending on how big the blocks of time.

Could you possibly go over what Week looks like for your youngest in fall, winter, spring and summer? My kids ages are 10, 8,7,5. I love the way you homeschool and feel very inspired by how you teach your children, I find it very rich. I am having a hard time though wrapping my head around how to school them all this way and get the core reading writing and math in for each one in a week.

Yes! I can share more on weekly, monthly or seasonal schedules. Because your children are so close to age if I were you, I would combine lessons so that you were not spending the whole day doing individualized lessons with each of your children. Even when it comes to things like math, I would do that with at least two of your children maybe even more because math skills need to be previewed, reviewed, and practiced. So often your children will do well to review work that’s being presented to a younger student, and they may enjoy learning skills, They’re not ready for by learning secondhand what you’re teaching the older children. But also because your children are so young, I would prioritize playtime, open ended play, as much as possible.

Thank you so much. I have been homeschooling since my oldest was four and quickly learned doing public school at home would not work. I have health problems as well so it can be hard trying to fit it all in in a day. Love your tips.
