I can’t wait to start !!!! I’m gonna do this with my three boys all the ages. 8, 11, 14 !!! We can’t wait! We just a slower start, a way to cultivate our hearts and stop the rat race!!!! Your channel is inspiring and your tips seem so helpful.
I forgot to mention that your husband was hilarious with that prayer lol I bet Jesus wouldn't cut me out! Lol thanks for sharing your family and homeschool journey
@@ThisBlendedHouse That is exactly what you want though! I was thinking of turning my den into our homeschool room but not sure. I usually do living room/dining room. I love your container on the table with the plant and candle 😍
Great video I love seeing how other mamas do it! I never saw myself as a homeschool mom and it became the best option for my kids so I feel like I’m still learning.
This is a helpful video! I have a 5 year old, 3 year old, and 6 month old baby. We just started CC in fall 2018 (as well as just homeschooling , too) and I am still learning how to do our days. I'm loving it but there is definitely so much to figure out and learn about how to do homeschool. I appreciate your thorough look into your mornings!
I love this. My struggle is when it’s time for me to work with the older kids after lunch I’m always so exhausted and I want to be done. It’s hard to teach my older kids when I’m so tired.
This was a wonderful help for me. I’m just starting to look into homeschool and seeing your routine was really helpful especially with a bigger family.
This was a great video! I have seven kids ages 5-15 and we have been homeschooling for 12 years. We are considering doing classical conversations next year for the first time and this video was really helpful. Thank you!
What a busy mama you are! Such a beautiful family!!!💗 Thank you for sharing! Fellow homeschool mama of 3 boys! 💗 Your Monday is our Tuesday! I have learned to love Mondays and the rest of the week just flies by!!!😀
I just found your channel and have enjoyed the videos I’ve watched so far! Your husband during prayer...I bet Jesus wouldn’t cut me out 🤣 Also, I love Less Junk, More Journey!
New subscriber, loving all your videos! Your family is so sweet and it's so inspiring how involved your husband is! Love your parenting & homeschooling style ❤️
Loved this. I have 4 kiddos. And I love the songs u used to help the. Memorize facts, cycles and language roots? The fraction for 1/6 was very helpful. Lol I would erase erase erase. How do u plan which Latin sections you teach first?. I'm incorporating French and asl as well as Spanish. This was very helpful on how to manage my homeschool. New to it.
This was helpful! We are getting ready to start CC in the Fall and I loved getting a visual of how your mornings go. How long do you spend on each "subject" typically?
New subscriber! I loved your day in the life and that added time with your husband home was so special! I’m totally interested in the teaching you do on the side 🙌🏻 amazing job!
Thank you for this. It was so Mich info for me Ian a new home school mom and trying to organize my day for homeschooling is so new to me. Iam just used to taking kiddos to school and then do all the chors m self.
I'm so glad it was helpful! I know when I'm beginning something new that it helps me to see how someone else is doing it...having a picture painted for us sure can be helpful! You got this, mama! xo
Thank you for sharing. This helps me. As I will be attending a CC meeting next week and am really trying to understand how it all works in conjunction with using other curriculum.
I'm so glad! I know I felt really lost about what CC was and how it would fit into our everyday homeschool. And every family does it differently! I can say that CC has been a huge blessing to our family. The community and the information they memorize has been such an anchor for our homeschool.
Thank you for showing a piece of how Classical Conversations works. I just left an information meeting about it yesterday. I believe it is just what we need. Waiting on the Lord for confirmation.
HI, I loved this video! Thank you for sharing! but I have a question. How do you do to keep them concentrated in their assignments? If I focus on one of my child's assignments the others immediately go to play :(
New subscriber, sweet sweet family! Our family structure is very similar, however my husband and I both work full time. I am starting homeschooling this year for the first time with my 6 year old, 4 year old, and 5 mth old! Prayers would be appreciated 😂🙌
I was curious about homeschooling and your video gave me an idea of how it is like. I wonder how you get the time for chores around your house and cooking/cleaning. Don’t mean to annoy you but I’m trying to figure how I can accommodate it.
I’m just rounding out 3 seasons of homeschooling my kiddos today! Yay! They still enjoy to read, write, math! That’s a win for me! Your morning routine video was a blessing and inspiration today. Thank you taking the time to post it. I am curious what your daily timeline looks like! Do you have one? I know that’s specific and we moms float through tasks list rather adhere to specific time constraints, but I’m curious if you were doing all the subject work from like 9-noon, then lunching? Or were you lunching at 1p?....I somehow need some time optimization tips :-D....We always seem to start around 10a, then lunch by 1p and I totally haven’t figured out how to get through all that material. You’re my hero! You do such a beautiful job. Blessings!
Our timeline is exactly what you saw in the video! :) We typically break for lunch around 12:30 and then the afternoons are spent with me focusing on the needs of my older girls. We are currently in summer mode so things are looking very different, but we are still doing a few subjects a few days out of the week. Hoping you find your rhythm!
Im from the Philippines. It is my first time to watch you and I am inspired by you. Im about to start to homechool my 8 yr old daughter this year and I really want to use the classical curriculum. Is it toolate for her? Thank you.
They are all from different sources! I usually type in the week and subject I'm looking for in the RU-vid search bar and then I pick the best options I find from there! Example: CC cycle 1 week 12 history/science etc :)
So glad I found this! I teach with VIPkid as well and homeschooling too. We are thinking about using CC for next year. Do you feel like using CC to teach some of the lessons for VK?
Hi Claudia! I teach levels 2 & 3 with VIPKID, so it is all very basic. However, I have a CC friend who teaches the upper levels and she has told me several times that Essentials (CC program for 4th - 6th graders) has been a big help in helping her teach grammar to those upper levels! :)
Excited that I found your channel. Can you please do a Mommy morning routine video? How do you rise early with 5 children? I'm striving to rise early especially for quiet time but I feel like it's impossible with my 4 littles under 5yrs old. Thanks for considering my video request. God's blessings continually over your family.
Oh sweet mama! 4 littles under 5 is TOTALLY different than having 5 aged 11-5. Give yourself lots of grace :) I'm sure you are up a lot at night making early mornings even more difficult! This may not be the season for early mornings! Evenings after bed time might work better for you to get some alone/quiet time in. I would be happy to make a mommy morning routine video soon! hugs! xo
I loved this video and it totally inspired me!!! I really struggle with structure and my kindergartener just really disliking school. He’s brilliant but he wants to create and play instead. Any advice for a first time homeschooling mama? Do any of your kids prefer no workbooks?
I tried looking through all the comments for this answer but I didn't see it... You're up at 0600 and Then work from 0700-0800 Chore time and then school work until noon - I know you said chore time is about 30mins, but what time do you start? What time does bible time start? Thank you for your time, I'm prayerfully considering CC in September but I need help with the home routine!! You made homeschooling look so easy!! Im so excited to watch more of your videos and learn more!!
The last few months things have looked very different! We have moved our chore time to after school (around 3) and Bible is the very first thing we still do around the table together, typically around 10.
I loved this! We are brand new homeschoolers this year. We are doing cc without a community. Trying to find a routine has had me a little stressed. This helped me see that it’s doesn’t have to be so stressful! Would it be possible to get the file for the poster that you had on the wall? That is such an awesome idea!
Hi! Love your videos. Wondering if you only do memory work from CC? I’m considering CC for next year and I ve been using TGTB but it’s very different from what CC offer especially for essentials and Challenge A.
Hi Becca! I have kids in Foundations and Essentials. Next year will be our first year with a child in Challenge. We do CC memory work, but we also use TGTB :) We use their handwriting and Language Arts course books. Their LA books, as you know, incorporate more than just English grammar which is the main focus of Essentials. I have found my Essentials girls benefit from both! Next year, I will not have my Challenge A daughter do TGTB Language Arts as she will have PLENTY of work to keep her busy :)
Home & Arrows Thank you! Always wondering if the grammar they get on the TGTB it is enough, cause when I look into essentials looks like a lot. But maybe I’m wrong😆
Essentials def is intense! BUT, I'm not sure that you can really prepare for it? ;) They teach you what you need to know as you go! BUT, I feel like TGTB does a great job of setting a good foundation for it!@@sweetbecca4608
Hi! They were from CC! I got them at Practicum last year. They were only $5 and ABSOLUTELY worth it. If you get them, put them in page protectors and they can be used over and over for drills :)
I’ve been debating if I join CC again or not, we do TGATB, so I enjoyed watching your other video. Thank you for sharing!! I have a question, did you buy the big panel where you write the CC weekly info on their website? Can you share the link?
I love this! Your routine is an inspiration to us as I seek to make our morning routine smoother for January. We are also in CC this year. Can you please share where you got your dry erase memory chart?
Hi! If you send me your email address, I'll be happy to send you the file we used to make the board! :) I had it printed and laminated at Office Depot 2' x 3'. I too am looking to make some adjustments in our lives to make 2019 a smoother year...hugs, mama!
Can I please have the file emailed or can you link it in the description box above? Thank you, I believe I requested this last year if I'm not mistakened.
I had a tutor friend send the file :) If you email me at homeandarrows@gmail.com I can send it to you! There was a while there where I simply could not keep up with the amount of requests for it, but it has since slowed down
Fellow CC mom here! Just found your channel and I love it! I too would love to know more about the CC memory board. (: Also would love a video or even suggestions on how to get a smooth homeschool routine going during the younger years!
Hey Cassandra! So fun meeting other CC moms :) Send me your email address and I'll be happy to send you the file we used to print our board! And those younger years...whew! It is tough to get in a routine then!! Thanks for the video idea :) Hugs!
What are the ages of your children?? They look close in age. How did you make it thru the younger years?!? I have five also ages 6,4,3,2,1. And it's my first year homeschooling. I went to public school so its very new to me but I have my husband's family who are a great support and also homeschool. Any ways... I just wanna know how you managed those days? Love y'alls routine video!
They are currently 12, 11, 9, 8, 6. My babies and toddlers always napped or had quiet time from 1:30 - 3:30. That was when I would homeschool my older ones :) I'm pretty sure I'll need to make a video on it since I get asked that quite often. You can do it mama! Don't put too much pressure on yourself...my K and 1st graders did A LOT of playing! School only took us an hour and a 1/2 or 2 during those years! xo
Hi Tammy! We use a mixture of things! Horizons math for grades K-3, Teaching Textbooks grades 4 -6. We also use The Good & The Beautiful and we are a CC family so that covers a number of subjects like science, history, latin, English, math and geography. Thanks for watching!
@@soreldegerlund1625 We are very healthy, thank you! Probably because I let my kids walk around barefoot both outside and inside ;) You can email me at 5arrowsbrand@gmail.com if you need to talk.
