First time homeschooler here! I’m so glad I found your channel! You have been so helpful in our kindergarten homeschooling journey! When Leilah didn’t want to do the days in the month song...that’s my son almost everyday. So it’s so refreshing to know it’s not just my kid. I also love how your girls are so vocal and will let you know if they don’t understand something!
aw I'm so glad to have you here! Yes, that is my daughter everyday too. she gives me a lot of push back this year. so we're working on handling that. I think its so important to allow open communication and be able to speak up when they don't understand.
Good job mama. I love the simplicity of your classroom and teaching. You have a lot of patience and grace!❤️ love how organized you are lol my OCD self enjoyed this 😂 and I had to laugh when your daughter said she had to pee right after break. My daughter does the exact same 😂🙄🙄
I like to keep things as simple as possible! I try so hard to have patience during our lessons, so thank you for noticing! Yeah I feel like we're constantly running up and down the stairs for bathroom breaks lol
Brittany you are doing a great job working with both kiddos! I know you were trying to figure that out, but it seems like you have conquered that! Same days are better than other.... KEEP IT UP mama! You rock!
Hey Brittany... that was amazing... Leilah's confusion between pear and pair... that was so cute...🙂 both your daughters are so adorable... can't believe Samara can do money counting at this age... you are doing a wonderful job with your kids' homeschooling... you are indeed a Supermom 🙂 you inspire millions of moms like me 😇
Great homeschool day, thanks for sharing! Fellow homeschool (1st grade + prek) mom here 😊 we’ve been using TGTB reader for 1st along with our MFW curriculum! New sub here 🤩
LOVE your shirt! 😍 Oh that pair vs pear discussion was so sweet! ❤ Yes! Take advantage of the nice days mama! This seemed like a very relaxed and wonderful homeschool day. 😁 Thank you so much for doing this collab with me! ❤ ❤ ❤
Hi Brittany!! I just discovered your channel, you look such an amazing mummy ❤️ And I’m looking forward to your next videos.. where you got the timer from? I love it soo much. . X
Hi Brittany, Thanks for sharing your thoughts and videos. Your first daughter seem to be quite smart as you have already moves on to level1 GB and she is 4.5 or 5 years old. Do you think you will have trouble getting her in higher grade if you happen to put her in school. Seems like all school districts are very strict in age requirement. And homeschool kids are way ahead but does not seem fair to repeat a class or things they have done at home in official school. What are your thoughts on this?
Hi Brittany, another lovely video! Thank you for sharing all this. Question, how did you engage Sammara while you were teaching Leilah in the latter half of the video? And how much screen time do you allow your girls daily?
I know this is kind of a no-no question in the homeschool community, but you said your daughter is 5....she would be in kindergarten in public school, but she’s doing level 1? I know it’s also a no-no to compare but I can’t help it😩....my 5/1/2 yr old is no where near that level! If I choose that curriculum and do level K, I’m afraid if I send her back to school next year that she’ll be behind!!
Hi There! Don't worry about what might be a "no no" question here. I love answering them all. Yes, she's 5 and doing level 1. All children learn at different paces and have different strengths and weaknesses. I know its hard not to compare, I still do it. What level of work was your daughter doing before? Has she been to school already?
Brittany Lynn Yes, my daughter attended Headstart and pre-k, so I’m doing her kindergarten year here. She’s really not responding well to sight words or learning to read, and I get a big “ugh” when I bring out most work. I keep things short, but I feel like she should be doing more.
It sounds like she would be ready for the Level K from The Good and The Beautiful. Have you taken the assessment for her on their website? It is colorful, engaging, fun and teaches in a really fun way. I get a lot of "ugh" and sighs when its time for school too. But, usually by the end of the lessons they are all smiles.
haha girl...that intro was a struggle. Yeah we've been taking it easier and not pushing it too much. Soon it will be freezing and we'll be able to have a lot more structure.
Do you think it’s easier homeschooling having kids close in age together or gap? i have my first child but torn between big or small gap and what would make homeschooling easier
This is my first year doing more of a structured lesson plan for them both at the same time. It is definitely a struggle getting the hang of it. But, I think since they're close in age, it is a little easier.
