After reading the first of these two books cover to cover, I am very comfortable calling it secular. I haven’t read the second book yet. Is there something in there that leads you to say it isn’t secular? I understand using the description of “neutral” when discussing science materials, as some may just avoid topics that don’t fit a religious narrative, but how do you delineate between neutral and secular when it comes to history?

With history if it doesnt include evolution and big bang it isnt secular. I personally dont use tuttle twins because its too textbook looking.

Evolution and big bang are usually considered science topics. However, even if you were to include them in history (I do see the overlap), it wouldn’t be a part of US (government) history or economics. I suggest taking a look at the materials and deciding whether you are still uncomfortable with the description of “secular.” If you do: come back and let us know why. There’s always room for alternate perspectives 🙂

I hadnt even heard anyone claim Tuttle twins to even be neutral. From the groups/reviews i have seen, it was my understanding that it very had a certain point of view and was to be avoided. Now curious to look into it a bit more.
