I noticed that Michigan was not marked off on your map. If you love history, two great historical places to visit in Michigan would be Mackinac Island in the upper peninsula, and the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village (one large place, takes two days of exploring to truly see it all) in Dearborn, outside of the Detroit area.

I’ve loved CW my entire life, especially the spring gardens and at Christmas! The warm gingerbread baked in the brick oven, and the balladeers in the taverns, and the Grand Illumination in December, and the fruity and evergreen scents wafting on the chilly air from the lovely Christmas decorations on all the buildings, and the fife and drum corps marching down Duke of Gloucester, and the wonderful garb and the yummy victuals in Christiana Campbell’s Tavern!

Grew up here. As did my father, grandparents, etc. can trace my history to Jamestown and still live here and have raised our family here. I’m glad y’all got to experience! Welcome and come again!

Next time you make or buy mashed potatoes, add a block of cream cheese, mix throughly while cooking. So darn good.

Daniel looked great; it was nice to get a peek at him. I took my children to Colonial Williamsburg 17 years ago…I need another trip! And one suggestion: like you, I keep most of what I need in my camper so there is very little prep work to get ready to go again. Black Friday is an excellent time to get an electric skillet to leave in your camper. Lol.

I love that you are passionate about the preservation of trades. I love that you are supportive of your children exploring their talents and developing life-long skills It gave me goose bumps. I think of the skills of my mother and grandmother and how I would love to carry on some of their skills.

last time we went there the kids dressed the part...we are also homeschooler? lifelearners. and we travel to learn history, language and arts. thanks for posting. braver than we are. we often think we will start a channel but dont want the negative.

We’ll be in Williamsburg again next month and will devote most of our time during this visit to Jamestown. The last time we were there was in January a couple of years ago and we froze, so hoping for mild autumn weather this time. Love history!

So happy you came to Williamsburg. By far one of the best places to visit in Virginia. I love it there. I can't do all that walking now but I am grateful to have spent many visits there in the 70's. Y'all have a Blessed day. I don't know if Monticello is on your agenda, but if you get a chance it is a wonderful place to visit as well.

You should take the kids to the loom house where they have a loom and spinning wheel and the talk about colonial weaving and how they make the yarn to weave with

Have y’all ever thought about coming to Appomattox, Va? I live near there and that’s where the Civil War ended. They have the old town/village and a museum plus many battle sites.

Looks like you had perfect weather for all of the walking in Williamsburg. The last time we were there it was hot and crowded. You did an awesome job filming Williamsburg. It was nice to actually see all of the buildings without a lot of people all around them. Did the Fifes and Drums come marching and playing while you were there? I always look forward to seeing them and hearing them during a visit. It is something you won't forget.

If you like colonial Williamsburg ,you need to visit NewBern n.c. Trryon palace was the first capital of North Carolina. . Nice small town and they have a awesome ghost walk.

You guys would probably love Charleston, SC if you have never been. They really go out the way to maintain the history. Driving around town is a bit of a nightmare though.

I am agree, I hate spending time cooking when I am on a camping trip. I precook everything I take on a camping trip. I even buy the Costco precooked bacon. It makes it so much easier. Plus I don’t like taking raw meat when I am camping.

Plan to drive through Western PA sometime (Pittsburgh PA) … you can plan to visit the Amish country in New Wilmington and take a Simple Life Amish tour. Pittsburgh has cool museums and amazing history and glacial formations that are now state parks with awesome hiking. And of course, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water.

Willianberg is the best been there we were stationed in Virginia Beach so we got to go to Williamsburg camped out as well but in the tent has so much fun Lotta good memories

Yes! Some of the houses are privately owned and lived in! Not sure who lives in them though.

If you can block off some more time and miles, try to get to Monticello as well, that is Thomas Jefferson's home place. The gardens there are smashing as well.

I want to go but it doesn't look disability friendly .I can't do all that walking at my age..it was great to see Daniel..y,all had so much fun..the speech gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes..our country is so great..and it's being destroyed slowly..I fear for my children and grandchildrens future..not being political just stating the truth. as I see it and it's just my opinion..love my country .thankyou for sharing with us..

In your opinion, how wheelchair friendly is Colonial Williamsburg?

They have asphalt in the Main Street it used to be all cobblestone gravel like which was hard for wheelchair accessibility. Most buildings have ramps and enough space, but there are some dirt trails and buildings that are smaller
