I can totally relate to this song. It reminds me of the time, six years ago, had to move out of my hometown to go to college. Fast forward now, I sometimes go home but it just doesn't feel like *home* anymore. Everyone I knew in highschool either moved out or I lost cantact to and my college buddies all had their job. I finally went back to my hometown after six years of telling myself I don’t need to. I found myself stood in front of my abandoned old house for a long time this afternoon. My neighbour recognised me then asked how I’d been and why I didn’t get inside. Well, I don’t even have the keys anymore. When I left this place, it was after the funeral of my grandma. I decided to left the house as it was and only brought some things with me, and never bothered to keep in touch with anyone. Now I’m back for another funeral of a relative. Realisation hits me that I can never call it home again, not anymore. So many unfulfilled promises, and I was left alone to fulfil it one by one. After all these years, I guess I’ve never really moved on. It’s been awhile since the last time I heard a song that made me think, and cry. Thank you.

Im sorry that people have to experience this feeling, I feel it everytime I come home and it can really just ruin things for you for awhile and make you feel lost. It may not work for everyone but rather than getting upset that you cant do the things you used to do or see the people you used to see, think back on the memories and remember how you felt in those moments and that they can never be taken from you. It gives me some peace and I hope others take comfort in it as well ... even if we cant go back and do it all again.
